Jayne turned five last month and we threw a party for her and some of her favorite friends at Menchie’s Yogurt shop at Vivo City. The party was not a huge one, but it was one packed with so many fun things for the little one. We usually will not spend too much on birthday parties, but because we only did a small party for her four-year-old party last year in her preschool, we thought we should do a proper one for her this year. Very glad she had a lot of fun!
If you’ve been to Menchie’s at Vivo City before, you would know that there is a small party room within the outlet. The room was decorated with balloons and banners when we arrived. As always, the birthday girl was thrilled to see her name everywhere!
As the guests were arriving one by one, those who reached early were entertained with coloring sheets. Every one was also given a Menchie’s party headgear to put on.
Jayne was like the party host – Going around mingling and chatting with different ones. I was sure she felt special as the star of the day!
At one corner of the room, a photo spot was set up for guests to take photos with the birthday girl. I thought it was a very nice gesture of Menchie’s to set up a photo booth like that, but very sadly, they lost all the photos after the party. =( Thankfully, I took my own photos as well, and this was supposed to be a bonus service previously not mentioned to me before the party. Otherwise, I would be very upset.
The party kicked off with Menchie’s yogurt of course! The guests were given cups to fill them up with yogurt and toppings available. They could take as much as they could fill their cups as that’s included in the party package, and they kids especially were very excited!
Then the games began! Papa Isaiah was summoned to play the limbo rock as well – Thankfully he didn’t break his back! =P
It was a funny time, as you can tell.
One of the biggest highlights of the party was when the face painter arrived. My friend and fellow mummy blogger, Diana, did a complimentary one-hour of face painting for us. As you might have guessed – Almost everyone wanted something Frozen-related! :P By the way, Diana is super talented and she painted for more than an hour with the same friendly smile on her face. Yes, the kids refused to let her go even when the time was up, and she obliged because she couldn’t bear to disappoint them! (You totally should engage her for your parties too. Check her out at ChubbyFairy.com).
Jayne first chose Sofia The First to be painted on her. I was wondering how Diana would do it, but check this out! Absolutely a genius way of painting on the crown and necklace! =D Jayne loved it so much, she refused to wash her face that day! :)
Sofia The First! =D
Such pretty Frozen designs on Little Chernise and Shinya’s faces too! =D
The most amazing designs were the princesses painted on the hands! Everyone couldn’t stop wow-ing at them.
Before the cake-cutting, Menchie’s, the mascot, made a surprise appearance!
Jayne was so happy as she gave out the goody bags to the guests and received a birthday gift from Menchie’s as well!
Thank you to all the friends who came for Jayne’s birthday party! Hope you had a great time, and thanks for making Jayne a very happy girl that day as well. :)
P/S: The birthday party package was 50% sponsored by Menchie’s, and it includes venue, party host, decorations, goody bags for guests, birthday present for birthday kid, appearance by mascot and one cup of yogurt for every guest. All photographs and opinions in this post are my own.
