The June school holidays have just ended, but the kids are still reminiscing the wonderful staycation we had at Crowne Plaza Changi Hotel during the June holidays. Who can blame them? I’ve not met a kid who doesn’t enjoy watching planes taking off and landing. As a kid myself, I used to spend hours at the Changi Airport Viewing Gallery, doing just that. Crowne Plaza Changi may be just like another hotel, in terms of its luxury, comfort or customer service, but one thing it can offer that no other hotels in Singapore can, is a view like this:
Even I can spend the whole day just staring out of our hotel room window into a view as perfect as this.
Of course, when we stepped into our room, it was wonderful already as it was.
I have a thing for hotel rooms that come with a nice bathtub and a sofa inside the room. This hotel room has both. :)
Alright, back to the spectacular view. We really should waste no time at exploring the rest of the hotel, but we couldn’t tear ourselves away from watching the planes and counting them as they landed. It was therapeutic and very peaceful. For some brief moments, even the kids made no noise, and everyone was just watching quietly.
Hotel breakfast is a big thing for me. Whenever I stay at a hotel, one of the things I look forward to is their breakfast. Thankfully, Crowne Plaza Hotel’s breakfast spread did not disappoint!
The food served at the main breakfast restaurant was amazing enough, but we continued to feast at the Executive Club because our room included access to the Club. Everyday, breakfast and cocktails are served there in the morning and evening respectively. We loved having breakfast here because of the exclusivity, quietness and excellent service we experienced. It was so wonderful!
There’s TV, internet, newspapers and some simple board games in the Club for guests who had access. Drinks and cookies are served complimentary the whole day here as well. You only need to do a small amount top-up to your room rates to enjoy the facilities of the Club, so I think it’s absolutely worth it!
Check out the breakfast spread here. Not as extensive as the one at the main restaurant, but good enough!
Besides the meals, we spent a great deal of time at the swimming pool as well. It’s a pity though that the swimming pool was not as child-friendly as I hoped it would be. Unless your kids have been trained in swimming, or are old enough, you definitely need to watch over your kids when they are in the pool.
The kids had lots of fun with their friends, Cheekiemonkies, in the pool on one of the mornings. So much fun, as you can see from the big smiles!
What a wonderful family time we had during the staycation, and the kids had so much fun! It was one of those staycations that I really felt rested and rejuvenated. Thank you Crowne Plaza Changi, for the amazing experience. Hope to be back again really soon! =D
