Have you heard about the new night extravaganza on Sentosa - Wings of Time? This world’s only permanent night show set in the sea performed its first show on 17 June, and has been attracting full-house crowds since then. I’ve seen the previous show, Songs of the Seas, several times but in comparison, I like this new show better. It has better sound effects, laser light effects and a clearer storyline, in my opinion. Combining state-of-the-art effects with contemporary story-telling and audience engagement, Wings of Time offers a high-value unique entertainment experience for local and overseas guests daily.
There are two shows happening every day, and if you are going for the earlier show at 7.40pm, be sure to reach earlier because apart from a preshow that happens 15 minutes before the actual show time where the audience gets to interact with some performers, you will also be able to catch some really awesome sunsets and sea view. I was really mesmerized by the beauty of it all, and so was everybody. We were all trying to capture the lovely sights before night falls.
Wings of Time has taken 2 years to be conceptualized and developed by a team of 150 professionals. It is a story of two teenagers who help a bird-like creature, Shahbaz, find its way home. The show will bring the audience on a breathtaking adventure through several paranomic vistas – from the Industrial Revolution and the Silk Road eras, to the African Savanna and underwater depths. The finale happens at the magical garden, which was spectacular and impressive.
I enjoyed the clever use of laser lights and nice music pieces throughout the performance. Wings of Time takes on a more artistic angle compared to its predecessor, and because of that, there is room for the audience to interpret the scenes themselves. Of course, expect beautiful firework display across the dark skies as well, though I wish they were much longer. Enjoy these photos I snapped during the show, and be sure to catch it the next time you visit Sentosa. :)
Wings of Time is a ticketed performance, with daily shows at 7.40pm and 8.40pm, along Siloso Beach.
