I celebrated this year’s National Day with a bunch of friends from church with a picnic at the open pavilion outside MBS. We were obviously not the only ones who thoughts of catching the fireworks from there – In fact, it might be one of the most popular spots in Singapore for that. It was fun picnicking with tidbits and bubble tea – Many families brought their home cooked food and everyone made themselves comfortable while waiting for the fireworks moment at 8pm. The atmosphere was really good!
It was nice to see so many people all decked out in red. National Day brings out the most patriotic part of us. The weather was very kind to us that evening – The skies were overcast, and we thought that it might rain at some point. Just imagining thousands of people rushing into MBS to take shelter made me shudder. Thankfully, that didn’t happen and the whole evening was just breezy, cloudy and perfect for an outdoor picnic. =)

We really do have a beautiful city skyline, don’t we? :)
Fireworks were beautiful as usual this year, but I thought it was a tad too short. It was much shorter than last year’s if I’m not wrong, but everyone loved it nevertheless.
Happy birthday, Singapore! Prosper and progress, and keep the peace. =)
