If you are a fan of cafes and lovely restaurants, then Thong Lor district is the place to check out in Bangkok. I would love to have more time to explore that area and busk in the BKK cafe culture, but we were too hard-pressed for time. Nevertheless, we did manage to have a rather decent meal at Audrey. It looks pretty high-class, but the prices are reasonable. Plus, anything so pretty and eye-candy is worth paying for.
I thought the restaurant reminded me of Audrey Hepburn and turned out it might be inspired by her indeed. My brother’s girlfriend spotted a photo of her on one of the walls. It’s cosy sitting inside the restaurant and the service is top-notch! There were at at least 2 people standing near our table all the time and paying attention to our every need. Strangely, it didn’t feel uncomfortable being stared at while having our meals. I guess the Thais have a way of doing it gently so that you don’t feel invaded in any way. Quite on the contrary, I felt very well taken care of. They were extremely attentive.
The decor of the restaurant was clean-cut and simple with mostly white-washed walls.
Love how elegant the whole restaurant decor was. :)
There’s something about black and white striped canvases that make everything look sleek effortlessly.
A fairytale twist at the alfresco dining area. This area looks more like a Victorian tea garden. So pretty!
We ordered a feast, and everything was awesome! (Their desserts are only so-so though).
Deep fried calamaris
Classic Caesar Salad
Spaghetti Cabonara with bacon (Very generous serving of bacon there!)
Stir fried noodles with roasted chicken
Stir fried pork slices
Seafood Stew
Green curry with fried chicken cutlet
Stewed Beef cheeks with rice
Nachos Cheese (DA BOMB! Must order!)
Stir fried Glass Noodles
Chocolate fudge cake
Thai Milk Tea Cake (meh)
Pina colada (Too pretty not to order, but disappointing taste)
Scones with jam
Even though the desserts couldn’t make the cut, the main dishes were definitely worth ordering and value-for-money. Plus, with an ambience like that, Audrey is a must-go for a nice dinner at Bangkok.
