Media Invite & Giveaway
I’ve waited for SO LONG for the opening of Madame Tussauds Singapore and it’s finally happening this Saturday, 25 Oct 2014! We were very privileged to be invited for a media preview of the place before it’s opened to the public, and I must say I was impressed! I’ve not been to any other Madame Tussauds in other parts of the world, but the Singapore version exceeded my expectations. Even though my kids may not know many of the characters featured, it was fun for them because of many interactive elements incorporated into the place. You’ll see why. :)
Madame Tussauds is categorized into different zones, and I love how they designed the look of every zone. Apart from taking photographs with the life-like figures, you can also read and learn about how every figure was created, how much time and finances went into the creation of the figures etc. You can also go on a journey to 200 years back in time when Madame Tussaud first opened the doors to her Baker Street bazaar in London. It was all very interesting!
Here’s a peek of what you can expect from Madame Tussauds Singapore. Mind you, almost every single figure looked real-life even right before my eyes, so don’t be surprised if you think they look real from these photos! Before we step right in, there is an ancient train for your family photo, complete with a chest of wigs, hats and accessories to make your photos more interesting (funny)! I cannot stop laughing at the way Jayne was posing in the first photo.. LOL!
See how many of these political and social leaders can you recognize?
HISTORY & LEADERS
Take to the pulpit in the White House with Obama. =D
I stood there observing this particular figure of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for a very long time. She was amazingly and intricately made. Extremely praise-worthy worksmanship!
Every little girl can be a queen or princess here too.
SPORTS
Boxing gloves for you to wear and pose with!
Even my 187cm-tall hubby looks like a minion next to Yao Ming! =X
This is another figure that looked extremely real-life. Gasps.
FILM
Phua Chu Kang looks so real, OMG! And there are pairs of yellow boots for you to put on as well! =D
MUSIC
How could I resist the head accessory of Elvis Presley?? It was too adorable. =D
A LIST PARTY
Among all the figures in Madame Tussauds, Jack Neo is the only one I’ve met in real life, and his figure looks really like the man himself!!
An oversized sari for little Jayne. LOL
Close-up of Jackie Chan, and can you see how real-life it looks?! Very amazing work.
Even E.T. made it to this A List Party section! Wow!
Immaculately beautiful.
It was a galore of the best looking people around!
THE MAKING OF
It was interesting to read about how the wax figures were made. The process was soooooooo tedious and meticulous! Such precision and perfection is amazing.
During the media visit, some parts of the attraction were not ready yet, so when you visit it after the official opening, you will meet even more figures and have a chance to take a boat ride that will bring you through a fantasy, tropical Singaporean garden.
