A Night Of Magic with Joe Labero (Review & Giveaway!)

Media Invite & Giveaway

I am an extreme critic when it comes to magic shows.

Though I can be dreamy and imaginative most of the time, I find myself especially logical and realistic when it comes to magic performances, illusion shows etc. I would sit in front of my telly and rationalize how every act was being carried out, and how the audiences were deceived. So, when I had the opportunity to catch ‘A Night of Magic at Raffles’ by Joe Labero, I just had to go for it. I wanted to ‘see through’ the tricks for myself. Surely, when the magic tricks were being performed right before my eyes, I can catch the loopholes??!

Turned out, I couldn’t be more wrong. I left Raffles Jubilee Hall literally wide-mouthed, with many questions in my mind. It was my first time watching a live magic show and throughout the show, I kept asking Joey, ‘How did THAT happen?’ It was bewildering, and Joe Labero was obviously very good at what he does for a living. Not only was the entire two-hour show exciting, it was also highly entertaining and captivating. Interspersed with his magic acts, there was an acrobatic performance by one of his lady assistants, and a fire sling performance by another guy.

I’ve watched many such magic shows on the television before, but seeing them live was up another level altogether. Seeing Joe Labero saw a man into two halves was unbelievable. Seeing the lady assistant locked up firmly in an enclosed box and then reappearing right next to our seats in the audience area merely 5 seconds later was also unbelievable. Yet another unbelievable act was how Joe Labero got a mobile phone from the audience, smashed it right before our eyes and then the very same handphone miraculously appeared in the locked box hung up on the ceiling before the show even started. The key to the box was given to a member of the audience right from the start. My absolute favorite was when Joe Labero asked for 3 rings from 3 different people in the audience, then proceeded to connect them together, then disconnect later. HOW DID HE DO THAT?????! It was mind-boggling.

I tried making Joe Labero tell me what was his secret, but of course he refused to tell me. =P

I say, if you are looking to be dumb-founded and pricked at your logical mind, this is one show you do not want to miss. Ticketing info is as follows:
