What’s best for quenching thirst on a super hot day out?
Icy cold water, that’s what.
But in the hot and humid weather we’ve got here in Singapore, it’s a challenge to keep water cool and chilled for a prolonged period of time. So, when Thermos approached me to review their FFZ-500F Sports Bottle, which supposedly keeps water chilled, I was more than happy to do so. Sure, I’ve heard of thermal flasks that can keep water hot, but a flask that can keep water cold? – I was curious to find out if it really works. I had planned for an outing with my friends to Pulau Ubin that following week and it was the perfect time to put the bottle to good use.
When the Thermos Sports Bottle was delivered, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t look dull and boring like most sports bottles I’ve seen in stores. It’s in my favorite color no less, and has a very modern and stylish design. Joey immediately put her claim on it, “Mum, after you are done with this, you can give it to me, right? RIGHT??”
There are several features that I like about the Thermos Sports Bottle. It’s got a wide mouth, which makes cleaning of the interior easy. The wide mouth also allows me to put in ice cubes to keep the drink chilled for an even longer time. The one-touch open lid makes it convenient to open even with one hand. I like how secure it is so that I don’t have to worry about spillages.
The sports bottle also comes with a washable sling pouch that has a shock-absorbent base. This is especially useful for children, in my opinion. They are so active and always running around, so dropping their water bottles is a common thing. I’ve lost count of the number of water bottles I’ve replaced after they were dropped. =X
And so, I brought the Thermos FFZ-500F Sports Bottle with me to Pulau Ubin and was pleasantly surprised that the cold water was kept chilled even after 4 hours. In fact, the bottle promises cold insulation for up to 6 hours because of its stainless steel vacuum insulation properties. It was so awesome to have cold water to quench my thirst on a hot day - Cooled me down and gave me the hydration I needed. This is definitely a good bottle to bring along when you are playing sports or out on an excursion. Talk about encouraging my kids to drink more water – This bottle definitely helps because it’s pink and it keeps water cool just the way they like it.
