I was so thrilled to be able to catch the sold-out performance in many countries – POTTED POTTER on its Opening Night at Raffles Hotel Jubilee Hall last night! I am a fan of the Harry Potter series, and I can’t wait to see how the creators are able to add in the twists into the storylines. Plus, I’ve heard that the show’s funny so I was all ready for a good laugh.
Went for the shows with my sister buddies who are fans of Harry Potter as well! I say, this is a great show to catch with great friends!
Well, to say that the show was funny is an understatement – IT’S HILARIOUS! I was practically laughing from the beginning until the end. There were a grand total of TWO actors on stage, and they were so animated and eloquent, and absolutely entertaining. One of the actors went around meeting the audience and shaking everyone’s hands before the show got started, and throughout the show, you’ll enjoy great and funny dialogues, cheeky poking-fun-at-each-other and hilarious actions! I say, this is a must-watch for all Harry Potter fans because you’ll be able to catch the jokes in the show. And for those who are unfamiliar with Harry Potter’s storyline, I bet you’ll become an expert by the end of the show. What the show did was basically to bring the audience through all 7 books of the Harry Potter series at the speed of a bullet-train, but in the most entertaining and comical manner.
While one actor chatted up the crowd, the other was getting into his role onstage!
Here are some snapshots I took during the show!
Presenting to you, Hermione. =D
And this is Ron with the red hair, I’m sure you can tell?!
Interspersed in between the show are segments of audience interaction which drove the crowd crazy. The whole hall played a game of Quidditch (Yes!) with a huge rubber ball, and check out the giant Golden Snitch that made everyone bend over with laughter. Haha!
This is it. I’m sure you can tell how funny it was by the looks of the two audience members invited on stage.
Perhaps the really funny bits of the show were when the actors poked fun at each other and played tricks that were not part of the script. There are some parts they couldn’t stop laughing at each other!
The show even ended with a great song!
Don’t expect huge & dazzling props in the show, or massive change of glamorous costumes or scene changeovers, but you’ll enjoy every minute of the 70-minute performance. Grab your tickets NOW because the show’s only running till 14 Sep!
