Holiday Inn Krabi: A Slice of Heaven

Sponsored Review

I wonder what took me so long to get to Krabi.

Interestingly, Phuket has been on my mind for the longest time, but I’ve never considered a holiday to Krabi before. When sale fares were offered by one of the budget carriers, I grabbed them and packed my family of four to this place without much thought. I wanted a really relaxing holiday without having to do much, and I got exactly that. And more.

This was the view that greeted us when we alighted from our transport from the airport. Krabi is such a quiet and peaceful place, I am seriously considering retiring there. Unlike its more popular and thus more rowdy relative, Phuket, the stretch that we stayed at was peaceful and tranquil with not many people walking around. Absolutely love it.

Thanks to our generous sponsor – Holiday Inn Krabi, we spent four days at one of the best hotels in the area. The hotel decor is sleek and modern, with an industrial look that blends in seamlessly with its environment of abundant lush greenery. I’ll show you around in a bit.

Holiday Inn Krabi put us up in the Deluxe Room (63 sqm), located at the 3rd storey of the resort. It’s bigger than the standard rooms, with a spacious balcony that overlooks the private swimming pool as well as the sea in the distance. It actually feels like a treehouse because it’s got a wooden exterior and an attic roof. Hooray to high ceiling in the room!

The room’s really spacious. Even after putting in an extra bed for Joey, there was still a lot of space for us to hang around. Of course, the high ceiling and the see-through sliding door to the balcony made the whole space look bigger as well.

The bathroom takes on an industrial look with exposed cement walls, and a bath tub that sits inside a cement base as well. So therapeutic to enjoy a nice, warm bath in there!

There is also a separate and huge shower area for rainforest showers, if you prefer. :)

The balcony area thrilled the kids a great deal. Not only was the space huge with tables and chairs for outdoor dining, there were sun beds for them to lie on, to enjoy the breeze and warm sunshine. It was perfect for a relaxing holiday! :)

From our balcony, we overlook the private swimming pool, which was gorgeous. At level 1, there are even rooms with direct access to the swimming pool right from their balconies, so if you are one of those who love to spend all your time by the pool, those rooms are perfect.

Next to the swimming pool is the main lobby. You can have a quiet read at this lovely little corner by the side of the lobby. Love how cheery the yellow & white striped sofas look!

The main lobby area is decked out in vibrant colours with a clever match with stones, wood and straw.

This was the kids’ favorite part of the lobby, for obvious reasons.

The kids spotted these from afar and ran all the way to them. :)

Lots of greeneries and beautiful landscaping within the resort, which will help you to relax and feel happy during your holidays. :)

Breakfast in the mornings are served at Level 2 of the resort, just above the main lobby. As expected, the food did not disappoint. Good selection, good service and most importantly, coffee was good. =D

Love the feeling of spending time with my family without having to rush to anywhere. Every beach vacation should be like this!

The hotel’s so comfortable and cosy that we didn’t mind spending the whole day just relaxing there. When we stepped out for our meals, beautiful beach views await us. Krabi is really such a wonderful place to be at, especially for city dwellers like us. It’s perfect for a year-end holiday, when we wind down after a year of hard work, and for the kids, a great place to enjoy Mother Nature and take a good break after studying hard for the examinations.

Watch out for my next post on Holiday Inn Krabi, where I show you where the kids can have tons of fun and have a holiday they will remember for a long time. In my opinion, Holiday Inn Krabi is the most family-friendly hotel and best in terms of recreation for kids in this area. The warm and friendly staff left a deep impression on us, and the kids are bugging us to go back again soon. That is the most important for any family holiday – Great fun, great bonding and great memories to bring home with us.

This is Part 1 of 2 posts I will be sharing on my family’s experience with Holiday Inn Krabi. Holiday Inn Krabi has kindly sponsored our stay in Krabi for 4D3N at the Deluxe Room. All photographs and opinions used in the series of posts are all mine.
