I used to think I know the answer.
I always thought she loves to read, because every time she sees a book or magazine, she would lurch forward for it and start flipping & pointing to everything inside the books. But today, I was proven wrong.
Please try to use your best imagination to visualise as I describe ok? The whole experience was almost traumatic for me that I could not take any photos.
I brought her to the library at Sun Plaza. Yep, her first time in the library Children's Section. Before I went, I visualised her getting so excited over all the colourful pictures in all the books she hasn't seen before. But... the moment she reached her, she just kept pulling different books off the shelves by the threes! She would grab a few books, then pull them off. Open one of them and flip through casually, before moving on the next shelf and repeat her pulling act! Gosh, I had to keep telling her it's rude to do that, and stop her before she successfully pulls all the books onto the ground.
After seeing her book-pulling acts ain't going to last long with a mummy tugging at her skirt, she changed her focus to other kids' bags and clothes! She went around looking at their bags and pointing at them, and touching them even! Then she would see a girl wearing an Elmo T-shirt, and she went to touch the Elmo's face, which happened to be the girl's belly. At the corner of her eye, she saw a Barney haversack and she quickly walked over in an attempt to open it too! Faintz.......
In the Children's Section, this is a wooden boat with seats for kids to read in, and Joey climbed all over it, obviously with no intention to read at all. haiz......
At some point, I did manage to convince her to sit down and read a book properly. And so, to prove that my daughter does read, I quickly whipped out my camera and took some photos!!!
Nevertheless, there is a marked improvement in her condition today. Her appetite seemed to have picked back on. She drank once every 2 hours today, and she finished her milk most of the time, and managed to eat some porridge too. When I was having dinner, she also shared my pizza heartily. Things are looking good. Thank God. :)
And oh! I must share with you a record-breaking thing she did today! Let me start from last night. She slept at 10pm, and woke up, much to my dismay, at 4am. I fed her milk, and then left her to walk around in my bedroom as I was just too tired. To my shock, I stirred again at 6am, and saw that she had thrown my stack of magazines all over the floor and is still awake. Feeling so frustrated, I gave her another bottle of milk, and thank God she fell asleep shortly after. The real surprise was when I woke up this morning by her! It was 11am! I could barely believe my eyes! I never set alarm clock, because she would always wake me up at 8plus latest. But she actually slept all the way till 11am! (In case you thought I skipped service, I attended yesterday already hor. Taking turns with Isaiah to attend this weekend.)
Next surprise was she actually took a nap from 1pm till 4pm! Woww... a 3-hour nap! How to beat that?!! Look like my baby is really recuperating from her one week of sickness.... keke..
