5 Unique Features Of An Amazonia Party Experience!

My kids love a good party, so every year, we try to do something different on their birthdays. This year, we decided to do a combined birthday party for them since their birthdays are only a month apart. We chose a midway point and had a birthday party last Sunday at Amazonia Indoor Playground. The kids had only been to Amazonia Indoor Playground once before this, and they couldn’t stop raving about how fun the place was since then, so it was their Number One choice of venue for their birthday party this year. I’m glad we did so – My kids, as well as their friends, had a blast of a time! I had many parents coming to me after the party, telling me how much fun they had! I was certainly glad they did. :)

There are many indoor playgrounds in Singapore and if you are planning on a party at such a venue, I have to say, hosting your birthday party at Amazonia is a brilliant idea because you get 5 unique features in one place – That’s like paying a price and getting 5 different experiences all at one go! If you know your Math, you should know how worthwhile that is. =)

1. 4D Themed Decorated Party Rooms

Yes, this is the only indoor playground with such elaborate party room setup in Singapore. The girls’ party room has got horse carriages as seats, while the boys’ room has got racing cars! Initially, we were only booked for the girls’ room, but because the boys’ room happened to be available last minute as well, our host opened up both rooms for us to use! Very glad for the extra space for the kids to run around, and the parents to hang out too!

I imagine it must be a very magical experience for the kids, to have their meals in the carriages and racing cars. Just look at all their big smiles! =D

The good thing about such a setup is that you don’t have to crack your head about decorations. This makes for a really fuss-free party experience, and that’s good I say! All I did was to do up simple calligraphy pieces with my kids’ names and hang them up using paper frames by Masons Home Decor, and it looks good enough!

2. Space Ball

Depending on the package you choose, Amazonia Parties can include Space Ball and 3D Glow Golf games for the guests, both of which are unique to Amazonia Indoor Playground. In the Space Ball room, the kids were split into two teams and took turns to shoot the target boards of their opponents’ team. It was so much fun!

Don’t worry about safety issues because the balls used here are all soft and spongy, and won’t hurt a bit even if you are hit by it! The party host would dim the lights and everything starts glowing in the dark, making it even more fun.

3. 3D Glow Golf

This is another unique feature that you can only find in Amazonia Indoor Playground. Using golf sticks, the kids have to navigate through different obstacle golf courses in the dark, with glow-in-the-dark installations that move and make sounds!

4. Four-Storey-High Play Structure

In between different programmes during the party, the kids are free to roam and play in the four-storey play structure inside Amazonia Indoor Playground. This is the biggest and tallest in Singapore, and don’t say I don’t warn you, parents – If you follow your kids in, you have to be extra flexible, agile and fast to catch up with them! It’s amazing how good in directions the kids become once they enter an indoor playground! Also, get ready for adrenaline rush when sliding down those long slides! I am amazed how the kids can go over and over again consecutively! Even my Joey and her friends, who are 11 years old, love running up and down the structure. And don’t worry, the structure has been tested to be able to withstand weight of both parents and kids, so it is absolutely safe.

5. Outdoor Trampoline!

Now, how many indoor playgrounds come with an outdoor extension as well? Amazonia Indoor Playground not only has an outdoor element, it is the very in-trend trampoline jump & bounce area! The kids went crazy over here, I tell ya! There is always a staff to ensure that only a certain number can play at any one time and to control any dangerous stunts that the kids may attempt. With their supervision, you can be assured to let your kids play! This can of course be included in your party package as well. :)

So, what did I say? Having a party at Amazonia is like having a 5-in-1 party, where the kids can try different activities and games, and have so much fun. This is definitely more fun and unique than a typical birthday party where you play the usual party games. My 11-year-old came to me after the party and said, “Thank God we didn’t have to play any of those lame party games, Mom. Thank you very much.” =P

Amazonia Indoor Playground has many different party packages for you to choose from, depending on your preference and budget. You can opt to have a magic shows, Science performances, laser tag and even wildlife appearance at your party where you can come up, close and personal with live animals such as snake or even crocodile! Of course, what’s a party without cakes and singing of the birthday song, right? Our party host gathered the kids together and led them in the whole celebration, as well as photo-taking. It’s always easier when there is a host around, don’t you think? =P

Amazonia prepared food for the kids, and I got my mom to make some macaroons, which were surprisingly quite a hit with the kids!

So, did the kids enjoy themselves? YOU BET THEY DID! They left the party claiming that it was the best birthday party they’ve ever had, and even after the party, various parents told me how much fun their kids had. Emicakes For Every Occasion!

When it comes to delicious cakes with fresh and abundant ingredients, the first name that comes to my mind is always Emicakes. There may be many other bakeries that make cakes with beautiful decorations and exquisite designs, but I always trust Emicakes if I want good quality cakes that would amaze my guests at any event. That was definitely the case at Joey & Jayne’s combined birthday party last weekend.

In my opinion, the birthday cakes make up a huge part of the whole party experience. For that few minutes at least, everyone’s attention would be on the birthday kids and the cakes when everyone sings the Happy Birthday song in unison. Thereafter, the birthday kids would take pride in serving the cakes to their guests who would savour them. Usually, when nobody says anything about the cake, you can assume it was just an okay cake with nothing to wow about, but when everyone starts praising how yummy the cake was and asking where the cake was from, you know you have hit jackpot. =D

So, since we did a combined celebration for my two girls, we decided to go with two cakes so that they can both blow out candles on their own cakes. Plus, these two girls can be as different as North & South poles when it comes to their taste buds, so having two cakes mean we can have two different flavours! If you do not yet know, Emicakes makes the BEST durian cakes ever, so if you are a fan of durian, you HAVE to try them! Joey loves durians and Jayne loves chocolates, so those were the two obvious choices for us. Check out their adorable cakes!!

I first saw this design on Emicakes’ Facebook page and thought it was adorable! This was actually one of their Mother’s Day cake designs, but I couldn’t resist requesting for it for my party. Emicakes customised the colours of the bows to the kids’ favourite colours and made Joey’s cake with longer hair since she has longer hair than Jayne. They were perfect! You should have seen the kids’ expressions when the cakes were revealed to them on the day itself! =D

The Mao Shan Wang cake had abundance of fresh durian puree, so every bite was bursting with the fragrance of my favourite fruit! I am not a gourmet but I thought the cream used in the cake was also durian flavoured, so everything just came together very nicely and perfectly. I took a huge slice and felt so satisfied! My durian-loving friends had high praise for the Mao Shan Wang cake – Even my mom who makes durian desserts and cakes herself couldn’t resist taking more than one slice! She’s a real critic when it comes to desserts, I would know! But she kept going on and on about how awesome the cake was - “It’s the real deal”, she says. =P

Jayne’s cake is filled with Chocolate Truffles, and according to the guests, was easily one of the best chocolate cakes they have ever eaten. I was too busy running around the party to try the chocolate truffle cake, but my girls tell me it’s perfect. Seeing the smiles on my guests’ faces, I think it must be true. Chocolate always makes us happy, doesn’t it? =D

6 Reasons Why Every Kid Should Have a Cool De Sac Party!

A couple of weekends ago, we had a most amazing birthday party for Jayne at Cool De Sac, and in my opinion, it was one of the best parties we’ve had! At the end of the party, I left the place thinking to myself that every kid should have a party at Cool De Sac! And there’s why:

1. The Party Decor Is Super Gorgeous!

Seriously, my jaws dropped when I stepped into the room for the first time. It was way more gorgeous than I imagined it to be! I love it that the party room was so spacious, painted white even on the ceilings, and that made every color of the decorations pop right out at you! There were pink and white balloons everywhere, and it made the whole room so princess-like and dreamy. I would think that this room is a dream come true for every little girl, and I was so glad it was my Jayne’s 7th birthday party!

2. You Can Have A Perfect Themed Party!

Jayne’s party had a theme – A Royal Tea Party – And everything from decorations & accessories to activities & games was aligned to that theme. Every kid who stepped into the party would feel that they were attending a Royal Tea Party indeed! :)

As part of the theme, every little guest gets to dress up as a princess or a prince, with gowns provided by Cool De Sac. The girls got to wear pink gowns and tiaras while the boys wore cape & crown! It was such an adorable sight seeing the little ones dressing up as royalties and jumping around excitedly. The dress-up was the first activity of the day and it got everyone really hyped up. I wish I had such parties when I was a kid!

I think the princesses’ tiaras were really pretty!



As for the costumes, you also have the option to purchase them so that every little guest leaves with it as a door gift!


 

3. The Party Hosts Were Amazing!

The hosts play a huge role in making or breaking a party, so I was really glad that our hosts were bubbly, friendly and loved by the kids! They could build a rapport with the kids really quickly, and got everyone warmed up to have fun together!

4. Fun Two-Hour Programme Planned Out & Run For You!

 

The best part about hosting a party in a place like Cool De Sac is that you don’t have to crack your head to think of programmes to entertain the kids. Everything is taken care of for you and the party hosts would certainly do a good job running the whole party! In that two hours, Jayne and her little guests did the royal dress-up, made sun catcher crafts, cupcake decoration and played a fun game of Pin-the-Crown-On-The-Princess! The initial plan was to play two or three more games but because the kids were having so much fun that the programme overrun and we had to cut away the last few games. Nonetheless, everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously in that two hours.

5. Yummy Food Served For The Big & Little Tummies!

Everyone gets really hungry at the end of a party, so it’s always important to have yummy food served! At Cool De Sac, the party food is prepared & offered by Guksu, the Korean restaurant right next to the playground. The party package at Cool De Sac would include party platters for all the kids, but you have an option to add on adult platters as well. The quantity of the food was more than enough – The hosts served the kids one by one – and everything tasted good!

   

6. Unlimited Play Time For All Party Guests!

If you think that the party ends after two hours, you are wrong! Every party at Cool De Sac comes with unlimited play time for the kids after the party, until it closes! And even though you may think that the kids would be all worn out after playing non-stop for two hours at the party, it is really very difficult to stop them from wanting to play at the indoor playground because just look at how fun it is!!!

You may get to meet mascots roaming around, or get a lovely hand painting done all within Cool De Sac. It’s all part of the package. :)

Big thanks to Cool De Sac for hosting Jayne’s 7-year-old birthday party and making it such a wonderful experience for the guests and us! We enjoyed every bit of it from the beginning till the end. Special mention to the bakery who designed and delivered the amazing Princess Castle Two-Tier Cake that day – Baker’s Heart.
