And since we stayed at home, Joey wore her comfy PJ..
Recently, I realised that Joey is slowing starting her phase of repeating words after us. Depending on her mood though, she would repeat certain simple words when we ask her to. That is so exciting!
Some new words she's been saying recently include, 'Bus', 'Yes', 'No', Nana' (shortform for banana), 谢谢 (ya, her 1st chinese word!), 'Amen' (her 1st spiritual word. Haha!).
Recently, I've also been teaching her how to sing. The most effective song song so far is Old MacDonalds Had a Farm. She would sing along with me during the part, 'Ee Ya Ee Ya O!'. The only thing is she doesn't exactly sing it in the correct sequence. She may go 'Ee O Ya', or 'Ya Ya Ee', or 'O O Ee'.. if you know what I mean. But not too bad at this stage lah.. soon, she'll be able to sing the whole song.
For other songs such as Barney's I Love You, Elmo's song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, she doesn't sing along, but she would either smile, laugh, shake right & left or jump up & down, or a combi of all. :) I am thinking of starting chinese songs soon, such as 客人来看爸爸. Must expose her to different languages so that she will be a linguist! keke...
The time spent staying at home can be very fruitful too, teaching her words & songs. Watching my kid grow up is another form of therapy altogether.
