Lunch . Taxis . Christmas

Since it was my off day and I was craving for my favorite duck rice at Raffles Place, I brought Joey to meet her papa for lunch yesterday. It was a 'big' price to pay for the duck rice, cos I took cab to Raffles Place, and due to the price hike in taxi fares, the fare was atrocious!

But what to do? With a baby in tow and the Christmas season round the corner, everywhere is jammed packed with people. I suspect half of Singapore is already on leave for the Christmas holidays.

After lunch, I took MRT to Orchard and every shopping mall is super packed. Raining outside somemore, so it was virtually impossible to be strolling along Orchard Road. Instead, I spent time 'walking in queues' inside Takashimaya, and of course got sian after a while, and decided to go home.

No prizes for guessing it right. I took cab home again and it was yet another atrocious amount. And yah, so much for raising fares to cut down on waiting time. The cab took 25 minutes to arrive on call. Sigh...

People say it's a 'Ho Ho HO' season.. I think it's more a 'Hole Hole HOLE' season - The hole's in my pocket.
