Turning one year old is a major milestone for a baby, because that typically marks the transition from a baby to a toddler. That’s also the point at which most babies start walking, talking and monkeying. So a party’s in order to celebrate the milestone!
I was swamped with the planning & preparation of Asia Conference 2010, so all I did pre-party was to order the food & the cake. Unlike most parties I organized before, I practically didn’t spend time planning for this party. =P I bought the decor on the party day itself, and because I didn’t have time to really think about what to buy, I used whatever I could find at home.
Reused an old birthday banner from Joey’s 3rd birthday..
Bought another banner with Happy Birthday wordings..
Made out her name from recycled floor mat press-outs..
Found some old ribbons and made these ribbon curtains at the door..
The BIRTHDAY GIRL!
She’s happy as usual!
But she prob didn’t know that there’s a celebration coming up later for her!
We ordered Nasi Lemak buffet from Lee Wee & Brothers!
What I really like about them is that they are affordable, hygienically and neatly packed, with good service provided. =)
We ordered Nasi Lemak, bee hoon, ikan bilis & peanuts, satay, fried chicken, curry chicken, sotong balls, otah, fried prawn tempura, popiah… Yums!
We love our darling baby! =D
And the friends arrived!
And here comes the birthday cake! (Have you already guessed???? It’s an agar-agar cake again! Haha…)
You know what is a major benefit of having an agar-agar cake as compared to a normal cake? You don’t have to worry that the birthday girl will smudge the cake! Baby Jayne tried touching the cake many times and it remained firm as ever!
We told Joey right from the beginning that she got to help mei-mei to blow out the candles and cut the cake because she is still too young to do that. I think that gave her some sense of responsibility. She did it pretty well!
Singing ‘Happy Birthday’ song to Baby Jayne! She was thrilled and elated to see people singing to her! Haha!
And Joey helped mei-mei blow out the candles! Jayne was oblivious!
And both of them made the first cut… =)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY JAYNE!!!!! =D
And thanks to all my dear friends who took the time to come for the party! :) Thanks for making Baby Jayne’s day! :)
