Bintan: Getting There & Angsoka Villa

I seriously don’t know how many blog parts I will have for the 3D2N Bintan trip because I took ridiculously ALOT of photos!

The Bintan trip kicked off at my friend’s house where we chartered a private van to bring all of us to the Singapore Cruise Centre at Tanah Merah. Camwhoring started the minute we boarded the van!

A bunch of very victorious people, as you can see.

Reached S’pore Cruise Centre!

After check-in of our luggage, we went for breakfast at Killiney Kopitiam (Very expensive though!)

There were a total of 3 kids on the trip! All are such adorable darlings.. :)

Joey was thrilled to go on a trip with her little sister! :)

IMG_9552

Our attempt to take a group photo all by ourselves just before boarding! It was pretty successful! (Don’t ask how many times we tried…)

IMG_9559

The ferry to Bintan was a 45-minute ride and we were entertained by Pixar cartoons on board…

IMG_9569

Joey was engrossed with the cartoons, and can’t be bothered with me obviously. :)

Bintan Ferry Terminal was a cheery yellow! =)

After a quick customs clearance, we were greeted by our friendly hosts from Bintan Lagoon Resort. It’s obvious they do this many times everyday, because they were so familiar with what they do. They quickly settled the uploading of our luggage, and we were chauffeured by coach to the resort, which was about 20 mins’ drive away. There was even a traditional music and dance performance welcoming us at the resort when we arrived at the lobby, along with refreshing lemon tea beverages. Thumbs up for good service!

We had booked the Angsoka Villa for our stay, and we realised the villas were up for sale as well!

Yes! It’s a two-storey bungalow with a private swimming pool, BBQ pit and complimentary buggy! So looking forward to seeing what the villa looked like!

Two buggies brought us to our villa. The whole resort is VAST & huge, and every guest has to get around in buggies! Too far to walk from place to place!!! Quite frankly, the buggy was not that hard to drive, even though I am not a driver & have zero driving experience. Thankfully, I had friends who entrusted their lives into my hands and allowed me to drive them around! Muahahahahahahaha! I was sure it was the best buggy ride of their lives.

We were greeted by lovely greeneries & lush surroundings everywhere. Pretty & relaxing place. =)

We spotted our villa!!!!

Quite frankly, I didn’t have much expectations about the villa, even though the internet pictures were quite aright. Everyone knows internet photos cannot be trusted and I must discount what the real place looks like by 50%. But I must say, I was in awe when I stepped into the villa. It was luxurious, comfortable & very clean, way better than what I expected!

Just a quick show-you-around. :)

The main living room, where we left the TV on all day long.. =P

IMG_9607

Side of the main living room, leading to a side living room. We didn’t do anything inside that room..

Dining table, with complimentary beverages laid out for us

IMG_9609

Kitchen. Very crucial because we had kids on the trip! We made milk, cooked porridge, and even cooked one meal here! The kitchen was fully equipped with frying pan, different pots, ladles, cutleries, hot water flask, microwave… etc. Happy with it!

What you see if you looked up from the main living room. =)

IMG_9613

The bedrooms. There were 4 bedrooms in total, with 3 toilets in the whole villa.

And now, what we’ve all been looking forward to!

The swimming pool!

IMG_9620

The whole area with the green field and swimming pool was BIG. We could even hold a carnival there! The sunbathing benches were just nice for our khakis who loved sun-tanning! Throughout the trip, they suntanned at every possible opportunity!

IMG_9621

The best part was – Even though we didn’t pay for a sea-view villa, they gave us one anyway! That’s the small opening for us to go straight to the beach! It was literally a stone’s throw away!!!!

IMG_9623

We were all very pleased with the villa. BIG THANKS to Serene who made all the reservations & liaised with the agency on our behalf! You did an awesome job, Captain! =P

IMG_9624

There was an outdoor dining table at the porch area just in front of the swimming pool. Seriously, can it get any better than this? =)

I hope you’re enjoying reading it so far! To be continued! =D
