My dad would be celebrating his 60th birthday come November this year. The Taipei holiday that my brother sponsored was meant as his birthday present which overflowed onto me and my mum as well. =P I’ve thought long and hard about what present to give to my dad on such an important occasion, and I had a great idea! I decided to make a Taipei photo scrapbook for him to keep as memento! =)
It’s an awesome idea because I’ve got an awesome printer at home that I can use to print out the photos that I need for the scrapbook. If you remember not too long ago, I shared with you how Hewlett-Packard kindly sponsored me a really good printer – HP ENVY, that allowed wireless photo printing at virtually no sound and high printout quality. It definitely came in handy this time round!!
Since I was going to print out tons of photographs (remember I took over 700 photographs on this trip!), it didn’t make sense if I printed everything on photo paper. I decided to print only those with my parents’ faces on photo paper, and the rest on normal white paper, hoping that they will turn out looking great as well.

Can you believe this was printed on plain white paper?? It turned out looking absolutely great! It happened to be one of my most fav photos on this trip as it showed what a Taipei street looks like. =)
I then interspersed the pages in the scrapbook with photos and normal paper print outs. The whole project took me just one night to put together and I was really happy with the final product. Hopefully, my dad would like it as much as I did! =)
Having my own photo printer at home definitely made it much easier. It used to be that I would have to bring my thumb drives and hard disks to shops to print out my photos and that took up time & resources. With my HP ENVY, I could print the photos in my free time at night after the kids have gone to bed. Its noiseless property made it an asset in my house - I don’t have to worry about disturbing the kids while I print! Awesome max.
The captions you see on the pages were also printed out using the printer. =D When my dad takes out the scrapbook to see ten years later, it would bring so much fond memories, I’m sure!
I strongly encourage anyone who needs to do printing on a regular basis (we all do, don’t we??!) to get a HP wireless printer. It’s a really worthwhile investment.
