I love a good meal at an alfresco restaurant anytime. And if it is kid-friendly as well, it’s perfect. So glad I found such a restaurant last weekend! We got invited for a food-tasting session at UE Square’s District 10 Bar & Restaurant after they recently underwent a physical revamp - While we were feasting, the kids had a ball of a time at the inflatable playground set up right next to the dining area. I did manage to hurl them out for a proper lunch but they couldn’t wait to run back in to play again after they were done. Kids can never have enough of playgrounds. Not that I’m complaining of course – The husband and I had an awesome and peaceful lunch.
The inflatable playground is set up every weekend, so it’s perfect to bring your family here over for a weekend treat.
We were served several of District 10’s signature dishes. The food was delicious and the ambience was so relaxing – We absolutely enjoyed our afternoon there.
Freshly Squeezed Juices served in mugs ($9 & $13)
We tried watermelon juice, orange juice and a health booster called Antioxidant, a concoction of peach, green apple, mango and strawberry. Very refreshing and certainly healthy!
District 10 Eggs Benedict; poached eggs on toasted muffin with sauteed spinach, smoked salmon & hollandaise sauce ($16)
One can never go wrong with Eggs Benedict, ‘nuff said. This is a perfect brunch item that you wouldn’t want to miss.
Hoegaarden Battered Fish & Chips; with mint mushy peas & tartare sauce ($22)
This had to be one of the best beer battered fish & chips I’ve tasted. Most of the others I’ve tried were too dry and tough, but this was sweet and tender with a light & crispy batter on the outside. I definitely recommend this if you visit. The sauces were very appetizing as well.
District 10 Brunch Beef Burger ($20)
Charcoal-grilled Black Angus patties topped with fried egg, crispy back bacon, cheddar cheese on a sesame bun & served with natural cut fries. This was an absolute surprise for me. I am not a beef or burger fan, but I was totally won over by this. The beef patty was so juicy and having the bacon and egg made it all the more hearty!
You have to try this if you come by! Super delicious!
Pizza with Wagyu Beef Cheek Rendang ($29)
This fusion of a pizza was rather interesting. What I really liked was the thin and crispy crust!
The kids love the fish & chips, as expected. The portion was more than enough for my two kids to share.
We ended our lovely meal with desserts – Even though we were so full from the meal, there’s always room for desserts. Haha!
The husband loves cheesecakes. Their New York cheesecake was light and yummy! ($14)
But what I really enjoyed was the Warm Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice-cream ($14). It was SO GOOD, and certainly a perfect end to a wonderful meal. :)
