The 27th Nickelodeon’s 27th Kids’ Choice Awards was broadcast on Monday, and we managed to catch it in the comfort of our home, with dinner sent right to our doorstep! The folks from Nickelodeon sent over two Family Feast meals from Pizza Hut, and so I got my neighbors to join me for dinner. There was so much yummy food as the little friends watched TV together – It totally chased our Monday blues away! :D
I was actually a little surprised that the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Award is such a huge thing. There were many well-known Hollywood stars who attended, and the whole venue was huge and packed with fans! Hosted by Mark Wahlberg, many celebrities such as One Direction, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Downey Jr, Selena Gomez, etc received awards for their works. The awards were broadcast from the Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles where kids honored their favorites from the worlds of film, music, sports, television, and more.
One of the most distinctive characteristic of a Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Award is the abundance of green slime everywhere. You can see them bubbling in fountains on the stage and throughout the show, various ones got themselves shot down by the green goo as well. I can imagine the energy and great atmosphere at the award ceremony – The fans were so hyped up!

I watch many of the programs on Nickelodeon with my kids frequently, so I am familiar with the main actors and actresses. Can’t believe that I would actually enjoy watching a Kids’ Choice Awards?! I guess it’s because most of those that received awards are my choices too! Orange blimps were presented to Adam Sandler for Favorite Movie Actor; Jennifer Lawrence for Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Female Buttkicker; The Hunger Games: Catching Fire for Favorite Movie and Frozen for Favorite Animated Movie.

At the ceremony, kids’ TV hitmaker Dan Schneider also received a special Lifetime Achievement Award presented to him by the stars of his mega-hit series. Among all his works, iCarly is my favorite – It always makes me laugh till my stomach aches!
One of the funniest moments during the show was probably when host Mark Wahlberg got slimed, because he insisted right from the beginning of the show that he was ‘unslimeable’ - Haha!
