Media Invite
My mum’s favorite choice of restaurant to go to whenever she felt like ‘having a good meal’ is always Sakura International Buffet. She raves about it often to me, but I’ve never had a chance to visit it. Thanks to their kind invitation, I attended the Grand Opening of their newest outlet at Ang Mo Kio, and was wowed by their extensive selection on their buffet line. This is also their first revamp after 8 years in the market, and you can expect a lot more selections and more premium offerings, definitely. Who did I bring with me to the Grand Opening event? My mum of course! =D
A total of eight counters at the buffet offer over 170 delights from Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Thailand, the US and France. In particular, there are several items on their buffet line that are highly recommended, and I personally enjoyed the Boston Lobster Hokkien Mee and the Bird Nest Egg Tarts very much!
The Boston Lobster Hokkien Mee was so savory, and had generous servings of lobster meat and prawns. They are cooked on the spot (live stations) and tasted very good! Both my mum and I couldn’t stop praising it. :)
The Bird Nest egg tarts had a crispy and flaky crust and really wobbling and soft centre. They, too, are prepared on the spot, so that they can be served hot and fresh! They were really going off the shelves like hot cakes that night and many people had more than one. Too good and strongly recommended!
Salivate as I bring you through the buffet line and what it has to offer. Seriously, I was spoilt for choice that evening!

And you think that’s all? NO! At every table, there is a steamboat pot for some shabu shabu. And this is no ordinary steamboat pot – It’s collagen steamboat full of goodness for our skin!
The selections for steamboat are great as well. The prawns, especially, were HUGE!
And of course, how can desserts be missing from any buffet line? The selections here will blow your minds away. Seriously – Everything looks so good but there is only limited space in the stomach!
Fruits are always good at the end of a good meal. There’re even longans and fresh durian puree!
Now, even if there is no more space in your stomach, do not leave without trying the Lava cake served with a scoop of Haggen-Dazs ice-cream. This brings you straight to heaven.
As you can tell by now, the newly revamped Sakura International Buffet line is more than amazing. Not only is the selection mind-blowing, the quality of the food is ensured as well. I’ll surely be back for more meals with my family and friends! Thanks again for the invitation! =D
