Sponsored Video: Be A Junior Zoo Keeper!

There was this one time I asked Joey what would she like to be when she grows up and the answer she gave me was not one I expected. She didn’t say doctor or lawyer or teacher – She said she wanted to be a zoo keeper! For the very obvious reason that she could have lots of time to play with the animals everyday, of course. It was until I painted a picture of massive dung-clearing that she suddenly realized that it might not be such a glamorous job after all. Truth is, you might be surprised at how many people’s ambition was to become a zoo keeper. I have a friend who was like that and really did go on to become one eventually. It’s pretty cool, actually. Compared to most of us who hold 9-to-5 deskbound jobs, zoo-keeper is definitely a job that gives a unique experience.

Now, when I heard about the ‘Junior Zoo Keeper’ programme offered by Wildlife Reserves Singapore, I thought it was a fabulous idea! Not only will the kids go about the duties of a zoo keeper (dressed in mini zoo keeper uniforms of course!) by preparing food for the animals, feeding them and bathing them, the little ones will also learn about the importance of animals’ overall physical and psychological well-being. They would also get to try their hands at preparing an animal enrichment activity and implementing it. I think that’s awesome and the kids would surely learn much from the exercise! Not only is the whole program fun and educational, the kids would inevitably leave with a deeper appreciation of the wildlife. Take a look at the following video to see how the Singapore Zoo bonds with their ardent little fans, encouraging them to come back for more!
