Jayne’s 6th Birthday Parties: The School Party

In my household, birthdays are huge. And that’s mainly because the mummy (yours truly) loves to plan and organize parties, so every birthday is an excuse for me to have some fun. This is our last year doing any parties in childcare centres because Jayne’s going to Primary 1 next year! And it was a simple but happy celebration for Jayne with the little friends she hangs around with everyday.

Yup, she insisted that I bring along a princess dress for her to change into. =X

Her birthday cake was a little special this year because I went for taste instead of just outward appearance. So, no cartoon characters or cute cake toppers – Just a traditional Brownie cake from online shop, neoBrownies , that tasted incredibly delicious. The chocolate taste was strong and yummy, and there was an extra crunch because of the almonds on top of the cake. Quite frankly, when I took out the cake, the kids went, “Huh no cartoons??”, “How come so plain, no design??”. But the moment the cake was served to them, almost everyone asked for a second helping! Chocolate never fails, I guess. =P

Grandma came by for the birthday celebration too! Smile

The usually not-shy Jayne always becomes coy when the Happy Birthday song is sang to her. =P

This large brownie cake called ‘The Devil Cake’ (S$60) was more than enough to serve the class of 30 students with many given second helpings. neoBrownies also offer a medium-sized cake that costs S$40.

neoBrownies also sells mini chocolate fudge brownies at S$9 each. Great for breakfast or as mid-day snacks.

Jayne was especially excited about the goody bags that we’ve gotten for her classmates. These are not just ordinary goody bags – They are fabric bags with a small drawing canvas on the bag for the kids to doodle!

These goody bags were supplied by www.sooo-fun.com (S$12 each) and they came with personalized labels just for Jayne’s 6th birthday. Love how colorful they were, and I was pleased with the quality of the bags as well – Certainly can be reused many times over. The staff were quick to respond and very flexible with meeting our specific requirements. Enjoyed working with them very much!

Sooo Fun!

Inside the goody bags, there was a simple craft, some crayons for the kids to doodle on the bag and healthy snacks for the little ones! I was especially impressed with the snack selection – They are from premium brands that are healthy and suitable for kids.

The teacher explained to the kids how to make full use of their goody bags – They can doodle on the front canvas and wipe off easily with wet cloth to reuse them again and again. Joey & Jayne had great fun with theirs as well. :)

We also prepared personalized name labels for every one of Jayne’s classmates. I thought that would be really useful for them especially when they would all be going to Primary One next year. Thanks to www.muakids.com for sponsoring all the lovely name labels! As a mum, I always appreciate it when goody bags’ contents are practical and useful, so I hope everyone liked theirs as well.

It was short, but Jayne had fun with her classmates and BFFs, and she was beaming from ear to ear when everyone came to thank her at the end of the party. Thanks to all our kind sponsors for making Jayne’s party such a fuss-free one for me, and a really unique one for Jayne and her friends. Here is the complete stock list for your easy reference. :)
