The best thing about having a car is the convenience. Especially for families, travelling together in the same car is so much fun when getting to the next destination. On one of the recent weekends, we had the joy of travelling in a Volkswagen Golf Variant for review purposes, and we liked the car so much, it was hard returning it at the end of three days. =X
There are so many things we love about the Volkswagen Golf Variant, and here’s 5 reasons that really stood out. If you are considering getting a new family car, consider the Volkswagen Golf Variant!
#1: The Sun Roof!
This was the number one reason why we love the car so very much. The sun roof is huge and extends all the way from the front passenger seats to the back! The sun roof allows sunlight to peek in on a sunny day, and opens up 50% if you want to get fresh air from outside. Their sun roof must be one of the biggest I have seen so far!
The weekend was mostly sunny, but when it rained briefly on one of the days, we were really fascinated by the splitter & splatter of the raindrops on the roof. So therapeutic to watch, along with the pretty skies above us.
#2: Ease Of Driving
The Volkswagen Golf Variant makes it easy for anyone to drive the car. At just a press of button next to the gear stick, the car starts immediately, and you can set off right away. With another press, the engine stops so that you can save some energy when stopping at a traffic junction.
The leather-covered three-spoke steering wheel is easy to maneuver, with quick access buttons located on it for ease of operation. This makes it easy for the driver to control many features of the car such as the air-conditioning and music volume etc, without taking the hands off the steering wheel. Safety above everything.
#3: The Touch Screen Display
The touch screen display can do so many things that I was impressed! There are functions such as GPS navigation, radio, CD player, as well as traffic updates available. On top of that, you can also connect your phone to the car via Bluetooth, so that you can answer calls automatically or send replies to messages using Siri functions on your phone in a safe manner. There is no need for you to pick up your phone to do any of those things while you are driving, as long as it is connected to the car system. While your phone is connected, you can also play any of the media files or songs saved on your phone in the car during the journey - How awesome is that?? I love modern technology and how it has made our lives so seamless nowadays!
#4: Sleek & Functional Interiors
I have a soft spot for soft brown leather, and that was exactly what we got for our Volkswagen Golf Variant. The threading is neat and well-done, and every design element in the car carefully thought-through. Sophisticated and classic designs never go out of trend, and even enhances the travelling experience. There were many compartments for storage within the car, which is so useful especially for families with children. The compartments store the necessities for the kids, yet keeping the interiors clutter-free. There is also a cup holder near the gear stick for the driver to keep his/her drink while travelling. All the little details tell of Volkswagen’s commitment to providing as comfortable a ride as possible.
The seats were comfortable and sturdy, and every one of us travelled in great comfort. There are three rear headrests, so all three passengers can have a comfortable ride at the rear seats. I liked how stable the car was, even when travelling at higher speeds on the expressway. Or perhaps, the husband’s driving skills was just top-notch. =P In any case, as the driver, he admitted that the whole driving experience was smooth and very comfortable as well.
#5: The Spacious Boot
This might be one of the most attractive features of the car for families! The boot was humongous, with abundant space to store luggage, strollers, bags etc. Furthermore, it can be further enlarged by adjusting the luggage compartment floor and pushing down the back seats. In fact, we were told that when the back seats are adjusted down, furniture and large bulky items such as bicycles, can be transported easily with no problems as well. That’s really a big plus point for families! I thought that spacious boot would come become useful as well, if we want to drive the car to a place, park and have a car boot picnic party! That car boot space can totally act as a table to hold all the food, etc. How neat that would be!
Thank you Volkswagen, for giving our family a wonderful weekend ride experience in your Golf Variant! As you can see, the little girl was not very pleased to return the car at the end of that weekend. =P
