One of the greatest joy in raising up a kid is seeing her grow in her understanding of things and awareness of the surroundings. Joey is picking things bit by bit and it's encouraging to see that she has started to understand what we are saying at times.
a) When I dish out my hand in a shake-hand position and say 'Shake Hand', she will also dish out her hand to shake my hand.
b) When I lift up my hand and say 'Hi-5', she will respond by doing 'Hi-5' and touching my hand.
c) When I say 'Yeahhhh.....!', she will also say 'Yeahhh....!' and smile sweetly.
d) When I point to something and say, 'Look Joey', she will follow my finger and see what I am referring to.
e) When we say 'bye bye', she will respond by waving her hand up and down.
f) When I clap my hands, she will lift up both her arms and get ready to be carried.
g) When I make an irritated sound coupled with an angry expression to tell her I am angry, she will either turn all sombre and look at me with her mouth pursed, or she would break into a sweet smile to make me smile too.
h) When I take out her bowl and put on her bib, she knows it's time to eat and she will go 'mum mum' and fidget alot to tell you how excited she is.
i) When she is back facing you and you call her, and she knows you are calling her but she purposely doesn't want to turn to you, she would smile secretly to herself, still facing the other side.
But of course, all these depends on how good her mood is at that time. Most of the time, she would only do all those at home and seldom to my friends or other strangers. You can try the above few tricks with her when you see her, but don't be too offended if she doesn't respond. She will only respond if she wants to. Got personality lor.
