Can Understand?

Joey is starting to understand more now, I think. When I frown and tell her, 'NO!', she would frown back at me and drop what she's doing. But of course, she'd resume doing it again 5 mins later. AT LEAST it shows that she knows I am asking her to stop doing it.

The babycentre website tells me that my baby is supposed to be able to understand what I am telling her now. And I am to stop talking to her in baby language and should use normal conversations so that she can slowly learn to pick up words here & there. Wherever I go, I am supposed to point out to her things she can see and tell her what they're so that she can learn to recognise them and link the names to the things.

Since young, I have always been talking to Joey in adult language whether or not she understands. I seldom go, 'gu gu ga ga' with her, unless I am teasing her for making those sounds. So, hopefully, Joey will pick up new words fast... :)

I am so looking forward to seeing her gain better understanding of the things I say. By then, it would be so much more interesting!
