Bento- A Big One

I woke up very early today cos we drove my dad's car home last night and this morning driving it back to him by 8am cos Isaiah's attending a corporate retreat at Changi today & tomorrow. So, inorder to have time to prepare Joey's food, I woke up at an unearthly 6.30am. I am so sleepy now...

On a happier note, this is Joey's bento today!

A big one today cos yesterday's bento was supposedly too little for her.

At the right top, there are 4 onigiri (rice buns) in bunny shapes, 2 stacked on top of 2. The right container is steamed fish with mushrooms, tofu & cherry tomatoes. The green divider cup contains green peas, and the blue cup contains 3 apple skewers. In the foil cup at the bottom right are some steamed spinach & carrot stars. For a treat, there's a Yakult thrown in as well.

The food was easy to prepare cos I just cooked everything together in my 3-tier steamer. The fish is steamed in 1 tier, and the next 2 tiers, I steamed the green peas, spinach & carrots. I am particularly happy with my steamed fish cos I took a bite & it tasted really delicious!

When I have more time, I may find a way to add eyes & nose & mouth to the onigiris so that the bunnies don't have to be faceless. =D

Finally, some photos to show you how Joey is enjoying her bento!

Some engineer friend of mine asked me to put things into perspective for him. I think you can try to visualise how big the bento is compared to Joey's size now? =)

Nothing beats seeing my daughter taking big mouths of food that I cooked. =D
