Our Road Trip – Part I

The Kuan Family made a road trip to Malaysia’s Kota Tinggi today, and we had loads of fun!

We were all feeling happy as we set off this morning..

The drive was about 90 minutes from Singapore to Kota Tinggi and both my girls had a sweet sleep during the journey!

I was busy admiring the scenery outside and enjoying the car ride. Papa Isaiah was the one who had to tirelessly concentrate and drive, while the rest of us just …. enjoy. Haha!

We stopped by for lunch at Marrybrown’s. It’s my must-eat whenever I am in Malaysia. :)

Reached Kota Tinggi by obediently following the road signs, and searched for the road sign that said, ‘Air Terjun’ which meant ‘waterfall’. :)

The lovely greeneries along the way.

And we reached the Kota Tinggi Waterfall Resort!

And this is the main slide play area. We were glad that there was only a small crowd even though it’s a Saturday. :)

Here’s the waterfall!

You can also climb the stairway to get to the top of the waterfall.. :)

Joey and Papa gets into the water! It’s SO SUPER ICY COLD!!! They obviously look very excited!!!!

DSC06301

Yes, you even need courage to dip your feet slowly into the water!

DSC06302

It’s also quite scary to walk on the boulders because they’re very slippery because of the water and the algae formed over the years. Got to be careful when walking…

Joey was really happy! Even though she was dead scared of the cold water, she was gutsy enough to keep trying to walk in the waters! And of course, every kid just loves to play with their Papa, don’t they? =)

DSC06313

I was carrying Baby Jayne, who was sleeping blissfully (even though the sun was so hot!!), and so I didn’t get into the water. But just dipping my feet into the water was enough to make my whole body feel cool! Amazing!

DSC06317

Eventually, they managed to conquer their fears and took one level up – from standing in the water to sitting down! Their expressions look hilarious because their buttocks were ‘frozen’! Haha..

DSC06319

Very brave Papa Isaiah took a step of faith and went thigh-deep! I say, ‘No pain, no gain!!!’

DSC06321

He did manage to convince Joey to join him by saying he will carry her and not let her get into the water.

DSC06322

But he broke his promise of course, and Joey was drenched from the one and only full body dip in the water!!! She kept saying, ‘I don’t want already!! No more!!!!!’

DSC06323

DSC06326

Haha.. Had to escape onto shore for a while because she was too cold! Nevertheless, still looked like she’s having lots of fun!

DSC06328

The brave Papa yet again.. this time armpit deep! wahahahahahaha!

Then the Papa & daughter had lots of fun on the blue platform… Looking at them makes me want to laugh too!! They are just too cute!

And of course, how can we not try the natural massage by the Kota Tinggi Waterfall?? Papa Isaiah goes in for some naturally awesome pounding time!

Joey waited impatiently for Papa to come back..

But Papa continues to do his very macho poses! haha!

I was just happy to pose with the waters and dip my feet into it. Really so refreshing! :)

Baby Jayne was such a good girl! Despite the weather conditions, she slept throughout and didn’t fuss! :)

As we were leaving Kota Tinggi Waterfalls, we unexpectedly discovered another interesting place. That’s gonna be in Part 2 of ‘Our Road Trip’!

  5. The water level is not deep, but if you went along with us, I'll feel very nervous about you going onto the rocks. They're super slippery!
