Our Road Trip – Part II

If you haven’t read ‘Our Road Trip – Part I’, you can read that first.

On our way driving towards Kota Tinggi Waterfall Resort, we passed by a road that leads to a place called Rainforest Resort, and thought it sounded interesting. So after leaving the waterfall, we decided to check out the place!

The road leading towards the Rainforest Resort is one that’s narrow  and muddy. It looked like a one-way traffic, and we were so worried that a car will come charging towards us! Haha..

After a short drive, we reached the resort.

There is a bridge that leads to supposedly a rainforest. The signboard at the bridge says that there are elements within the compound and cannot be used without the supervision of the instructors. This looked like some kind of outward bound school! And probably will have different kinds of tree-top obstacles, flying fox, balancing ropes etc. Looks quite exciting. :)

The chalets at the resort are for renting, and people who stay there will sign up for one-day tour package, which includes meal and the guided tour through the rainforest & the elements. This is probably suitable for a church camp or something, or a very short stay with friends, because apart from the adventures in the rainforest, there’s nothing else to do there. Nevertheless, it’s a really quiet & peaceful place, so I liked it very much. It’s a place I can empty out all the stress and just rejuvenate. =)

Another interesting thing about the place are the cages near the entrance to the resort. There are cages holding different animals, and they were actually the reason why we decided to get down from the car in the first place. We wanted to show Joey the animals.

A sleepy white rabbit (You can’t really tell from here, but it’s actually much bigger than usual rabbits)

A really black hare (very shiny fur…)

A bald turkey (Joey thought it was a chicken!)

The one that made my hair stand was this:

A very spiky iguana!!!! (Joey wasn’t disturbed by it at all)

We walked in to check out the place..

The lobby with rattan furnitures. Balinese style…

The walkway from the lobby to the inside of the resort

The terrace chalets. I didn’t peek in to see what the inside looks like, but the feel is quite Balinese or those Malay kampongs.

We checked out the prices casually, and it was really quite cheap. It will be a rather different holiday choice because you can explore the rainforest and attempt the obstacle courses. Should be quite fun. :)

After leaving the Rainforest Resort, we drove all the way back to Johor Bahru to visit the babies’ great grandmother (Isaiah’s maternal grandma)!

It’s her first time seeing Baby Jayne because her legs are quite weak, so she can’t travel long distances to visit us in Singapore.

That’s three generations there for ya. :)
