I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ve lost my identity as Klessis, ever since I’ve had kids. As far as I could remember, friends always call ‘Hello Joey!’ or ‘Hello Jayne!’ when they see me and my kids. When was the last time I heard ‘Hello Klessis!’?!! Well, I’m not complaining. I totally understand. My kids are damn cute.
Sometimes when I bring my kids out for shopping, passers-by and strangers stop me in my path just so that they can look at my cute babies and marvel at how adorable and cute they are. It’s happened to me quite a few times, last time for Joey and now Jayne. I’m serious.
Babies just have this special ability to attract attention and make completely sane adults act cute and make weird expressions/sounds/both that look pretty insane at times. They also build bridges between strangers and me and while I’m usually quite shy by nature, I mostly don’t mind spending 5 minutes answering the questions of a stranger who’s totally besotted with my babies’ awesomeness.
Brought the kids to a wedding this morning, and before and during the holy matrimony, the guests seated behind us kept playing with Jayne. I have to admit that my face was glowing with pride when I heard them whispering to each other how cute, beautiful and smiley she is. Ahem. They sure have good taste, I must say.
Joey, on the other hand, chatted freely with my friends during the buffet tea reception after the matrimony. Being the social butterfly she is, and armed with a superb eloquence, she completely makes her presence known in every gathering, no doubt.
I am proud of my girls! :)
