I always think that my church’s Candlelight Services are fantastic every year. We’ve had candlelight services for several years now, but every year, I cannot help but be amazed and in awe of how beautiful it is. Candlelight everywhere, filling up the entire hall. It was as if earth stood still for those few minutes. Very serene. Very breathtaking.
The first candle to be lighted will be Pastor Kong’s candle, and he will then pass on the flame to the pastors, who will then pass it on to the rest of the congregation. Such a symbolic significance, don’t you think? God has placed the calling and destiny of this church in Pastor Kong & Sun, who started the church, and by passing on the light, it signifies the passing on of the calling and carrying on of the legacy from generation to generation. It also signifies that one little light can influence and eventually light up the entire hall- The power of one. Such a beautiful thing.
Every year during the candlelight services, I will bring the kids out to the main hall to join in the candle-lighting. Last weekend was no exception. Oh by the way, it’s Baby Jayne’s first candlelight service. :)
Joey and Jayne have opposite reactions to the candlelight – Joey thinks the fire will burn her hand…
….whereas Jayne wants the fire to burn her hand. =X
During the candlelight services, everyone will be busy taking photos with friends and loved ones. The whole atmosphere is just filled with amazing love and peace.
The Christmas spirit is really building up! :):)
