My Home Is No Longer My Own

It is not hard to step into a house and tell whether kids live in that house. People with kids will agree with me that after the kids came along, their homes no longer looked like the original homes anymore. The homes are now infested with traces of the kids in every corner. There are toys stacked against the wall on the side; there are kids’ clothes hanging dry on the clothes rack; and you see evidences of graffiti everywhere.

I like interior design very much, but every since Joey joined out little family, interior design has taken a whole new form and definition all on its own. I have rules set in the house though – No ‘decoration’ of common areas like the living room and the kitchen (and MY bedroom of course), only areas that can be hidden away or concealed. Joey’s closet and her bed have thus become the main canvas for all her ahem creativity.

We found some very cheap wall stickers at the Changi Airport Terminal 3 flea market and quickly bought it without thinking! One set of stickers for only $2 each! And the quality is really quite good. :) Therefore, we now have one more ‘vandalised’ area in the house, and that is the bathroom.

Nice colours isn’t it? Kinda adds some energy into the little bathroom!

I think Joey will have fun bathing with these favorite cartoon characters of hers!

Speaking of the Changi Airport Terminal 3 flea market, we went there on Sunday and had fun shopping around. I feel that it’s a much better venue compared to the one at Playground @ Splash at East Coast Park. Vendors over there literally were baked and toasted by the scorching hot sun, whereas the vendors at Changi Airport set up their stalls in the cooling basement 2 carpark. There are even large fans provided to aid the ventilation and announcements made periodically in the airport to get people to visit the flea market. Customers are more likely to loiter and make purchases when the environment is nicer, isn’t it?

And so I bought some clothes for my darlings – 3 pieces for $20 (That’s less than $7 per piece!)
