Last Sunday we attended an event co-organised by Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports and Canon at Singapore Discovery Centre. It’s a meaningful initiative organised to increase awareness of the importance of Daddies in families. Dads no longer take a back seat in the area of child rearing and discipline in this time and age, and they too should and can make a major difference in the lives of their kids.
The main programme was basically a talk by famous food blogger, Dr Leslie Tay, who has a popular blog www.ieatishootipost.sg. He shared on how to take good photos, especially of families and children, and some of his tips were really enlightening. =)
And of course, a dad-and-kids shot is apt at this point and most appropriate at the event.
Some door gifts.. stickers, booklet on digital photo-taking and a wristband for the Dad.
Along with the event also came free admission tickets to the Singapore Discovery Centre for the dad and a kid. The mum had to buy a ticket to get in. =.=
Random shots of what it looks like inside the Singapore Discovery Centre. (Quite frankly, nothing much.)
There were some interesting interactive elements and they really made the whole exhibition alot more interesting. For example, there’s a station that allows a person to be an anchor broadcaster for news. They roll the script on a TV infront of the person, and all you need to do is to read it off like a broadcaster. It will be recorded on video and will playback right after you finishing reading the news. You can even choose to purchase the DVD of your performance!
And of course, lots of standees like these to let kids take photos…
This is kind of like the centrepiece of the Centre but I have no idea what it is… =.=
The most interesting and fun for Joey would be the free art-and-craft session at the lobby area. She made a ladybird!
We even left with a family portrait taken by the organizers. A simple time of family bonding. =)
Dad for Life!!!!! :)
