The party we’ve all been waiting for finally happened yesterday!
We chose to have the party at Queensway McDonalds Ridout Tea Garden, and it was a beautiful place. Did you know that it used to be the Japanese Gardens before it shifted to the west?? Me neither! My parents told me about it when we reached there yesterday.. “You should have told me it’s the old Japanese Garden! I would know how to come!” =P
There is a lake right smack at the entrance of the McDonalds, which is also home to many turtles. The place was beautiful. :)
The wooden bridge made it all very serene..
See the turtles! Sunbathing, it seems! Haha..
Joey’s just very thrilled to see the cute creatures.. :)
Of course, we were very thankful for friends who all came to celebrate together with Joey. =) All of them watched Joey grow up and are Joey’s favorite uncles & aunties!
Uncle Wei Wei!
Auntie Kris!
Gan Ma!
Welcome to Joey’s 4th Birthday Party!!!! It was quite a nice venue because they had a pavilion area reserved for the party and we had the whole place to ourselves! The garden was just right outside and because it was a non-air-conditioned area, it actually felt very close-to-nature. Warm though. :)
Mei Mei, of course, joining in the fun. =)
This was what the party area looked like..
Every kid was given a party hat with their names written on them.
Of course, US too.. =D
The kids started with a Happy Meal each before we proceeded with the games..
Some of the kids could not make it to the party at the last minute, but I still hope that Joey enjoyed herself. =)
Debbie probably won the award for BEST DRESSED ACCORDING TO THEME for the day! The theme was stylo mylo, but nobody really remembered, I think! Ha! Joey just wanted to dress like a princess and definitely not stylo mylo!
Games time!!!
Joey could not take the ‘attention’ on her, so she was hiding behind me most of the time and refused to participate in the first game! That’s her there behind me..
Thank God she opened up slowly as we continued and by the time we reached the last game, she was participating willingly!
The game we all grew up playing – Passing the parcel.. =) How nostalgic.
The game masters led games and gave out presents to the kids who did well..
Quite frankly, passing the parcel is a game that makes anyone nervous. I was very nervous too when the parcel reached me. =P I admit I quickly disposed of it the moment it touched my hand.
Nathan, examining the McDonalds magnet he just got (for hugging his mummy as penalty for getting stuck with the parcel!)
Cake-cutting time came after games and can you imagine what happened?? JOEY HID BEHIND ME DURING THE ENTIRE BIRTHDAY SONG. O.M.G.
Look at the birthday cake. What a waste I thought. She could have enjoyed the moment where everyone was singing blessings to her and she was the STAR of the party! Ah well, let’s pray that her 5th birthday will be better! Ha!
Then again, when it came to candle-blowing time, she got back to her usual self. =.=
Look at her excitement during the cake-cutting… If I didn’t stop her in time, the guests will all get shreds instead of slices of cake to eat. =P
Last but not least, she received a present from McDonalds along with a balloon bouquet, and she gave out McDonalds goody bags to her friends…
This lady in red stripes was the game master of the day..
By the way, this is the first time Baby Jayne is celebrating birthday with her jie-jie!
A BIG Thanks to all my dear friends who came and those who took much trouble to bring their kids! It sure made our day that much brighter! =D
(I just realized many of you were not in this group photo! oppss..)
Needless to say, that was how she ended her day… I bet she dreamt about them last night too.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY BABY!!!!
