The great June school holidays have started, and if you are a mum like me, you’re probably wondering where to bring your children to during this month-long break! Staying at home for the entire month is obviously going to drive anyone crazy, so why not pack your June with educational and entertaining activities?? =D I’ll be introducing a series of wholesome activities you can bring your children for, so watch out for them.
First up, let’s look on the arty-farty side.
The Singapore Art Museum will be bringing to us again the Art Garden, with new commissions by Singapore artists this year. This Art Garden is an interactive contemporary art exhibition, specially catered for children. It promises to be engaging for the young to explore and see the world in new and different ways. We talk about cultivating the creativity of the children, and this is definitely one exhibition that can do just that. Forget about TV cartoon programmes and the IPAD! Just get out there and explore! =D
Say hello to Walter, the curious colossal bunny. Catch the Dancing Solar Flowers installation and discover how light makes the flowers dance. Step into the fantastic blue universe of Paramodelic-Graffiti, dress up life-size hand painted dolls in Mummy Dearest, shop at our lively Fruits market and create your own 3D paper fruit. When you need a rest, watch fun animation films from all over the world. Don’t miss these works and more - spend a day of play and learning at Art Garden at SAM.
The Singapore Arts Museum has kindly given me complimentary tickets to visit the Art Garden today, so I’ll be bringing my kids down for some art cultivation. Hopefully, at the end of the visit, we’ll all leave with a better appreciation of the arts. Say hello if you’re going today and we happen to bump into each other! Check out for my review next week too. =D
