I am a gadget girl, I really am.
Many people don’t believe me when I make that kind of statement because I typically don’t splurge on gadgets. But I know deep inside, I am a gadget girl because gadgets make me very excited! I love exploring new gadgets, so when I get my hand on one, I can spend hours just trying out its capabilities and functions.
I was thus very excited when Hewlett Packard offered to let me try out their new printer - HP ENVY. What attracted me most about this printer is the fact that it can accept print jobs wirelessly! That’s super awesome because I am sick of having wires running everywhere, messing up my workspace. No wires = Cool!
I felt like an excited little girl when the printer was delivered to my house and I laid my eyes on it the very first time. Truthfully, this is the most beautiful printer I’ve ever seen.
The whole printer is in sleek shiny black, and looks as cool as it can be. Now that many people spend bombs on their home’s interior design, a sleek and pretty-looking printer will blend in so well with the home furnishings. OK, I’m starting to sound like a bimbo. This is after all a printer. Let’s get on with its functions!
Once the printer is switched on, the control panel is raised and you can touchscreen to select the functions that you’d like to use. Very cool, and definitely user-friendly. It was simple enough even for Joey to use! As you can see, there’re several interesting apps such as Dreamworks, Snapfish, Crayola, etc. These web-based apps will allow you to print out templates, game sheets or colouring pages. So entertaining for the children!
I was raring to try out the wireless printing capability, and got Joey to help me.
Every HP ENVY printer comes with a unique email address, and all you need to do is to select a photo of your choice, and email it to the printer’s email address. As simple as that. This would also mean that you can be in the office and send a print job to your printer which is at home, and it’d be printing out within seconds at your command. A printer that’s easy enough for even the IT-idiots! I like!
Ta-da! The photo was printed out (laser-print quality, no less!) within a minute. Joey and I were amazed at how once the photo was emailed out, the printer started moving within 2 seconds and our photo was being printed! No wires! It was almost like magic.
We also tried printing out an email, and it came out in 5 seconds! But frankly, what really amazed me was how QUIET the printer was. Totally no sound, unlike traditional printers which always causes a loud hoo-ha whenever it’s printing! This means that you can do your work and print stuffs out and NOT wake your kids up! Haha!
As with most laser printers, you can choose tp insert in photo paper and print out your photos on glossy shiny paper. We tried doing that, and were very happy with our photo. =) I think all mummies should get a photo printer like this one. We have too many adorable photos of our kids to print out! =)
Now, if you use an IPAD, you’d be happy to know that you can also print directly from your IPAD. Just download the HP ePrint apps (free on itunes store) and you are ready to print to your hearts’ content. Alternatively, just email whatever you want to print from your IPAD to the printer’s email address, and you can get your printouts in a minute too.
I am thinking that this printer ought to be a permanent fixture in my house. Too useful!!!!!!! =P
