Joey & I were invited by Brasserie Wolf restaurant to their cooking demo class last weekend, and it marked Joey’s 1st try at crepe making. It sure made our Sunday somewhat special & interesting!
The class was conducted by Brasserie Wolf’s own Executive Chef, Chef Claudio Sandri and the turn out for the class was very good. All the kids sat surrounding the main table, waiting excitedly for the cooking demo class to start.
Joey was no exception! She saw the ingredients on the table and kept asking me what we were going to make. =)
Check out the ang moh lady in our midst. Before the cooking demo class, she was going to read everyone a story! Love story-telling, don’t we? =D
It was a story about….. crepes! Haha.. Related to what the cooking class was about. It was a colouring storybook created by Brasserie Wolf titled, ‘Julie & the Crepe Discovery’.
After the short story-telling, the chef came in and started the class!
The chef was a very friendly guy. You know, the kind that kids like. =) He would ask questions and the children would respond. It was a very light-hearted session.
Chef demonstrated how to make a crepe by pouring in a mixture of flour & water into a hot pan.
He got the kids to peel the bananas so that they could use it to wrap their crepes later on.
The aroma of the crepes filled the whole place! After the simple demo, Chef told the kids to each grab a crepe and start creating crepes of their own choice. There were ingredients laid out on the table like cheese, cream, bananas, Nutella, ham, asparagus, vanilla ice-cream etc.
Joey got a piece of crepe and starting creating her signature crepe! She took lots and lots of ham. Haha! One of her fav!
All the kids were happily making their crepes. It was a mess, but that’s what happens when you have 20 kids gathered around a table making crepes! That’s the fun part, I suppose!
Viola! Her crepe was done! And she happily dug into it with pride, no less! =D
Monbana Chocolate also conducted a chocolate tasting and I must say their hot chocolate was super awesome! Very thick and just the right sweetness.
Thanks again, Brasserie Wolf. If you’re interested to send your kids for this cooking class, do keep a look-out for news on new classes starting soon!
