I don’t know about you, but I’ve actually never heard about Kidswift until they emailed me. Can’t believe I didn’t know about such a wonderful service available out that in the market! And when they asked me if I would like to share about their services on my blog, I agreed immediately! Good things are meant to be shared!
Kidswift is an online DVD rental store that allows you to pick your videos online and have it delivered to your doorstep. When I got to know about it, I was thrilled beyond measure. I’m sure many parents have kids just like mine, who absolutely love watching cartoons and educational children programmes. But the truth is, we all have limited resources and as much as we want to indulge in our children, there is no way we can keep buying DVD after DVD and keep growing our kids’ video collection! Plus, their interests die off almost as soon as they come, so at the end of the day, we are left with a pile of DVDs that no longer interest them because they’ve watched it at least 50 times over! Hey, that’s a lot of money invested (and wasted)!
So, Kidswift comes into the picture to provide us parents with this wonderful service that allows us to choose DVDs or video programmes that interest our kids, deliver them to us, then let us return them once we are done watching, and they send over the next title that we have requested. Does that sound wonderful or what??! Our kids get to watch different titles and for as long as they like, with no limitation on the watching period. I say this is just fabulous. I should have started the business myself. Why didn’t I think of it earlier?! LOL.
Now I know many of us would be wondering whether the online ordering service would be simple and hassle-free enough for us busy parents. I tried it out!
The first step is of course to login to your account, then you can start browsing their DVD catalogue. The DVDs are neatly categorised by age group as well as genre, and you will be able to find familiar titles and cartoons that all our kids go crazy over such as Hi-5, Barney & Friends, Sesame Street, Dora The Explorer, Bob The Builder, Leapfrog, The Little Einsteins, Thomas & Friends and many more! I had fun browsing through the catalogue with my girls (and a hard time deciding which to request for first!) Haha..
Just click Rent It for those titles that your children want, then once you are done, you can view your selections in My Rental Queue. You can arrange your queue anytime you want, and while you are doing that, the first item on your queue is already being arranged to be sent out to you! My girls chose all Hi-5 titles as you can see…
I was a little skeptical about how simple the entire process was that I emailed Kidswift to ask them if that was ALL I needed to do. Turned out it was. Haha. So simple, OMG! =D
Then two days later, this arrived in my mailbox:
Our 1st DVD had arrived! =D My girls got so hysterical when they saw the envelope, as if their Christmas presents had arrived early. LOL!
With the DVD, you will find a self-addressed envelope for you to mail back the DVD once you are done watching. Once Kidswift receives the DVD, they will mail the second title over immediately. That’s easy peasy, isn’t it??
The next question you have in your mind would be how much all these would cost, right? =D All you need to do is to pay a monthly subscription and you get to watch and exchange DVDs as often as you like. Take a look at the subscription plans they have!
- 1 DVD out at-a-time Plan for SGD $11.99
- 2 DVDs out at-a-time Plan for SGD $21.99
- 3 DVDs out at-a-time Plan for SGD $32.99
Very affordable, isn’t it? If your kids watch at mega speed, they can get to watch really a lot of DVDs in one month!! And for a fixed price?! Very worth it!
