After I’ve finally managed to confirm our return air tickets to Singapore, we decided to get over our shock at missing our flight and just enjoy ourselves one more day in Taipei. After all, it was already money wasted, and nothing could turn back time. If my dad didn’t need to rush back for his work, we would have stayed for two more days actually. =P
My parents brought Baby Jayne to Mac’donalds for breakfast and bought back hotcakes for my breakfast. What a luxury to have breakfast in the comfort of our hotel room. =D After breakfast, we set off to the Taipei Underground Metro Mall.
Nice, got hotspot in this place. =)
The Metro mall was an amazingly LONG stretch of shops divided into different sections such as fashion, books, electrical products, gaming, F&B etc. It’s awesome because it’s all air-conditioned and everything’s selling cheap cheap cheap! It’s shopping with no need to worry about the weather conditions! See the red line in the map in the middle? That’s how long the Metro Mall is - It stretches across many MRT stations!
Here we go!
We spent a lot of time in this section that sells books. Too many books to browse and to buy! I bought sticker books and storybooks for my girls. =)
On many of the walls, you would find pretty graffiti and cartoon drawings. Definitely made this space more interesting and lively.
By the time we conquered the books section, we were famished, and decided to come out of the underground in search for food. Spotted a chinese restaurant down the road! This part of Taipei felt like a village!
Here’s the restaurant. It turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Taipei. =)
It was so affordable. We chose the set lunch menu that came with 6 dishes including soup and it cost us less than $30 in total. At the end of the lunch, we were all so bloated!
Check out our dishes!
Such a fulfilling meal!
It was more shopping after lunch, and we spotted something interesting just before we left the mall. A DIY candy floss machine! =)
You can even choose your fav colour of the powder… Baby Jayne chose pink of course. LOL
Simple instructions..
My brother did it like a pro! The girl who tried doing it before him could not twirl the floss properly and in the end, she had to scoop everything out with her plastic bag. =X
Before we left the place to go back to the hotel and leave for the airport, I bought a pair of really cool platform shoes for only 200NT! That’s about $7 only, and is sooooooo comfortable to wear. =)
As you can tell, my Taipei trip was really fun, and I want to go back to Taiwan again definitely a few years later. It’s a place where you can visit and revisit and still love it as much. =)
