Have you heard about Cetaphil before?
I used to have very good skin up till I was about 19 years old. Then hormonal changes in my body caused massive acne breakouts all of a sudden, and I was forced into a situation where I have to religiously cleanse, tone and moisturise my face everyday. I tried so many different products and none seemed to be able to solve my problem. I was torn between using strong medicated cleansers that would hopefully ‘kill’ my acne, or using really gentle ones that would not irritate my skin further. It was a tormenting adolescence period for me quite frankly. I wish I discovered Cetaphil then.
The folks at Cetaphil sent over a travel pack for me to try/ It’s branded itself to be such a gentle cleanser that even children can use it! I was pretty skeptical actually – Would such a gentle cleanser be able to clean thoroughly enough? Especially when I pile on makeup everyday?
The travel pack came in 3 products that made up The Cetaphil® Skincare Plan: A Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser, Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion and Cetaphil® UVA/UVB Defense SPF 50.
The cleanser, though gentle, is supposed to be a great makeup removal. Originally formulated for dermatologists, this cleanser is gentle on your skin and sensitive to your skin’s needs. It will not strip the skin of natural protective oils or emollients, or disturb the skin’s natural pH balance. What really amazed me was that it is really fragrance-free! Many of you would know that even though some products claim to be fragrance-free, you would still detect a chemical smell while using the products. This one is absolutely smell-less! Love love love!
After using the cleanser, my face felt clean, but not tight. I hate cleansers that make my face feel tight as if all moisture has been sapped away! This one felt really gentle like its name suggests. =) The moisturiser glided on smoothly and felt a little oily at first but eventually subsided and stayed on as a matte finish on my skin. Not bad! I cannot stand oily feeling on my skin. Makes me feel as if I hadn’t cleansed it properly enough.
And as everyone says, always put on sunblock. So before I put on my makeup, I slapped on the sunblock with SPF 50! It’s good to know that my skin’s well-protected under the vicious sun rays of Singapore. And the best part was that it didn’t feel oily or heavy. It was light and almost felt like it wasn’t there!
I’d love for all of you to have your own Cetaphil experience as well. =) I’ve got 4 travel packs to give away, so if you would like to try out Cetaphil, follow the instructions and you may be on your own to receiving a free pack!
