Road Trip To Johor Bahru

Last weekend, we went on a road trip to Skudai in Malaysia as Papa Isaiah had to do a recce of the route for work purposes. The drive took us close to two hours from the Tuas Checkpoint. Thankfully, my dad & brother went with us, so we managed to entertain the kids in the car during the long journey. After the recce, we headed over to a really old market at Johor Bahru for our dinner. It's a familiar place because we've been there many times. Love the cheap & good seafood there.

The market is called Taman Sri Tebrau Hawker Centre in case you are thinking of visiting. Just hop into a cab and tell the driver, and he'd surely know the place.

We were there pretty early for dinner, so there was no crowd yet. This market used to be very dirty and wet. After a minor renovation, it feels more comfortable dining here. At least the floors look dry and clean. =)

Before we settled down for our seafood dinner, we went to buy the famous kueys that we love. This stall has been around for the longest time, and we all love the kueys that he makes. And they are super cheap too!

Trays and trays of yummies. We were very excited that our favourite kueys were still available. We've been disappointed many times previously when we came and found them sold out.

These are our favourite peanut balls! We bought 30 in total. Super yummy and worth breaking your diet plans for. =P

Sugar cane juice is one of our must-orders every time we come here. Just look at how BIG the large size is!

That huge cup belonged to my brother, who's really a water bucket in disguise. He downed it in no time at all! =X

Happiest man that day - Ate his favourite peanut ball & drank his super huge sugar cane juice!

Presenting our yummilicious dinner!

BBQ stingray

Beggar's Chicken - Basically chicken cooked in flavorful herbal soup!

Chili Clams

Stir-fried Garlic vegetables

Steamed prawns in egg white

Great time spent with wonderful people eating delicious food on a good day! =D
