The kids' absolute favourite Christmas present this year is from their Godma - Monopoly Junior Party board game.
I think it's a genius idea to create a junior version of such a popular game because the adult version is obviously a little too challenging for the young ones. There is even an educational angle to this board game - The kids could learn how to count money, make purchases and pay rental to each other.
The game is pretty simplified. All the cash are in $1 denomination so that it's not confusing for the kids. The chance cards are still in this game with an additional feature of a gift box, where at certain points, you would be made to put money into the gift box or claim everything from it. Every time you land on an un-owned party, it is a must to purchase it. If you land on someone else's party, you pay rent according to the price of the party which ranges between $1 to $5. Very simple & easy to play! :)
A maximum of 4 players can play at any one time and you choose from 4 different coloured cupcakes to represent yourself. The ownership of parties will be indicated by gift boxes in the same colour of your cupcake. =D
And so, we spent the last day of school holiday playing the Monopoly Junior Party and had so much fun together. Board games are really good for family bonding time because they always bring so much laughter and fun. :)
The game obviously does not require any form of strategy or planning, because I was the one who went bankrupt MOST of the time while Jayne emerged as the champion 95% of the time, much to Joey's displeasure. =P
Thanks to Godma for the great gift! =D We love it!
