A Smashing Good Time

If you are looking for weird fun things to do with your kids, consider this: Water bomb balloons.

Papa Isaiah first mentioned that he had planned with the kids to have a water bomb balloon session. I was absolutely clueless what he meant. Sounded pretty violent to me, if I may say so. Didn't sound very suitable for little girls at all. I was, frankly, being a judgmental there. =X

Turned out, little girls LOVE dangerous and risky things. They couldn't stop hopping here and there with glee when Papa Isaiah filled the balloons with water. I just thought they looked pretty cool in the bucket. I was still clueless how Papa Isaiah planned to play with them.

We found these 'catcher' rackets in the house and the girls would use them to catch and the throw the water bomb balloons to each other. Phew, I thought the game was to hit each other with the balloons. =P

It looked pretty easy, but it was not that easy. Not only do you need to have the skill to throw well, you need to catch well too.

It was fun and of course very exciting for the girls especially when they managed to catch the balloons.

Joey totally looked like a pro water bomb balloon thrower.

This little game that Papa Isaiah invented entertained the girls for a grand total of 5 minutes. It didn't take us long to realise that because the balloons we bought were of good quality, they didn't break and burst even when dropped onto the floor. And so, the girls invented another game - Burst-the-water-bombs-on-the-wall. It was a notch higher in terms of excitement and accomplishment.

And yes, the balloons burst and splashed one by one, and we laughed and laughed. It was one smashing good time. A cleaner walked by in the midst of our smashing session and looked at us with an amused face. I guess it is quite funny to see a whole family smash a bucket of water balloons against the walls. I was a little worried he might call the police actually.

After the deed was done, we cleared up the broken pieces of balloons, and made the quickest escape ever.
