Spongebob Has Come To Changi Airport!

Media Invite

I am embarrassed to admit this, but I actually like Spongebob & Square Pants. It’s a totally nonsensical cartoon series, but you have to agree that they are really quite funny. It’s no surprise therefore that my kids are fans, and when we need to lighten up our moods, we blast its theme song at the top of our voices. It’s quite fun actually – You should try someday.

So when we heard that Spongebob and his gang will be at Changi Airport this Christmas, we were all elated! I even told Joey that I hope there will be Spongebob’s Pineapple House, and guess what???

The Pineapple House was really there!!!!

It was so super cute, complete with the pipe lookouts! =P

Mind you, this is the world’s tallest and most interactive Pineapple House! At stipulated timings throughout the day, kids and adults can light up the Pineapple House by pedaling the snow sleigh (Show times: 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm daily). What thrilled the kids most were the huge bubbles that were blown out from the roof top as well!

When the Pineapple House comes alive, kids can wait for balls to roll out from the Pineapple House, and use the balls to redeem free gifts! Christmas is indeed the season to be jolly!

In the Santa Claus Village just next to the Pineapple House, kids can hug big soft bears and even write a letter to Santa Claus.

Santa makes his appearance on 21 Nov – 26 Dec 2013 at 4pm – 10pm. Catch him there if you can!

Lots of nice decor for the family to take photos with as well. I really felt the Christmas mood in the air! :)

Another major attraction at Changi Airport this Christmas would be Bikini Bottom at Terminal 3 Departure Hall! This must be one of the biggest inflatable I have ever seen. It was so colorful and fun the kids couldn’t wait to get in!

To ensure that the inflatable playground is safe for all the kids, there is a restriction on the number of kids who can enter at each 10-minute block. Before the kids dashed in, they were also given a simple safety briefing by the watchers.

The Krusty Krab Ball Pit was a hit, as usual!

Oh my favorite Pineapple House again. :)

The slides were so steep I got a little nervous when my kids came speeding down! Thankfully, it was an inflatable – No matter how they fell, they were just bouncing from one spot to another. :P The girls went up and down many times – Definitely braver than daddy & mommy.

Jayne asked me why Spongebob only has two teeth – I have no idea why.

For the younger kids who dare not enter the inflatable, there is a small section next to the inflatable for them as well.

Simply spend a minimum of S$20 in a single receipt (S$15 for Changi Rewards members) and your kid can play in the inflatable. Operating hours: 12pm – 10pm daily (15 Nov 2013 – 5 Jan 2014).

In addition to the exciting activities, Changi Airport is also decked out in spectacular Christmas displays. Airport visitors and passengers will be awed by stunning landmarks in the form of giant topiaries such as Italy's Colosseum and Leaning Tower of Pisa, Russia's St Basil’s Cathedral and Turkey's Trojan Horse. We were brought into the restricted area after boarding to check them out. If you are travelling during this Dec school holidays, remember to check them out after you’ve checked in.
