Family Staycation At Festive Hotel RWS

Sponsored Review

This was what greeted us when we stepped into our room at Festive Hotel a couple of weekends ago.

Not exactly what you would expect in a normal hotel room, right? =P

When I first saw the photos of the Family Suite on the internet, I thought it’s perfect for my family. Since I was looking for a place to do a cosy family birthday celebration for Joey then, I approached RWS who kindly agreed to sponsor us 2D1N stay at Festive Hotel. The room is meant for 2 adults and 2 kids and comes with a king-sized bed, a loft bed and a sofa bed that could pull out to become a small double bed. In the end, I brought my mum and mother-in-law along and we all squeezed into the room together. It was a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults and 2 kids, but we made it through the night in one piece! The hotel also kindly arranged for breakfast for all of us, which was a really nice touch. :)

So, I told the hotel that I was going to celebrate Joey’s birthday but I didn’t expect that they would go to such an extent to decorate the room to surprise Joey! There was a Happy Birthday banner, colorful balloons, Elmo & Cookie Monster soft toys for Joey & Jayne, birthday cake for Joey and even a handwritten birthday card! We were seriously blown away by how meticulous they were. Joey, of course, was exceptionally thrilled. When we checked into the hotel, it was 3 days after her birthday – She certainly didn’t expect to have any more celebrations!

The birthday cake was in Joey’s favorite flavor and tasted really good. We didn’t even bother to unpack, but got right into the celebration!

The handwritten birthday card was really a nice gesture by the hotel staff. :)

Each of the kid was also given a little goody bag with these cute stuffs, as mementos for this stay. :)

So, apart from the large king sized bed, there was a loft bed which thrilled the kids to pieces. We haven’t seen something similar ever since our last trip to Legoland, so the kids spent most of their time on the loft bed. They even slept together in that bed at night!  The sofa’s below the loft bed and is double that width when opened up.

The bathroom was nice, with a bath tub and toiletries provided. I like it that their shampoo and bath gels are in big bottles.

The loft bed’s quite pretty with paintings of leaves on the wall and colorful bed sheets. When the kids insisted on sleeping together in one bed that night, I was worried they might end up kicking each other or chat the whole night. Turned out, they both had a good nights’ sleep. =P

From the balcony in our room, we could look down to the swimming pool. I thought the pool’s pretty big for a hotel! We didn’t manage to swim this time round, but it sure looked like a kid-friendly pool with a water splash area, Jacuzzi and shallow areas for soaking. I like the wooden-planked pavement that surrounds the swimming pool – It’s got a holiday and resort feel somehow.

It was a nice and cheery morning as we made our way to the breakfast venue. Guests staying at Festive Hotel can opt to have buffet breakfast either at Hard Rock Hotel or Hotel Michael.

We decided to have our breakfast at Hotel Michael’s Palio restaurant! The spread may not be very big, but there’s good variety and flavors. We had a good family time together that morning. :)

Thank you for hosting us, Festive Hotel! And for all that you’ve done to make Joey feel special for her 9th birthday. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay. :)
