Underwater World June School Holidays Special (Review & Giveaway!)

Media Invite

The much-anticipated or much-feared (depending on which end of the spectrum you are  on) June school holidays have arrived, and after hearing about the special promotion happening at Underwater World Sentosa, we brought the kids there a few days ago. It’s been years since our last visit and I was especially excited this time round to watch the pink dolphins!

We arrived close to 11am and literally raced to the Dolphin Lagoon as the first show of the day starts at 11am sharp. The dolphins were sooooooo adorable! They performed on cue by their trainers and wowed the audience who clapped and cheered for them. Such gentle and graceful creatures with cute tails. :)

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any cuter, along came adorable seals! So obedient at following instructions and just strutting along gracefully.

Just look at those black round eyeballs!

They are surprisingly agile especially when climbing stairs. One came up the spectators’ stand just a short distance away from me! Looked so unreal, isn’t it? LOL!

They were good at juggling rings and balancing balls too!

The kids love the show and could get up, close and personal with them (well, almost!). =D

After the show, we headed to the Underwater World. From what I remember, the place hasn’t changed much and the highlight has always been, and still is, the Touch & Feel pool! The kids spent 45 minutes there alone!

The stingrays were more elusive and harder to touch but the kids had fun ‘chasing’ after them.

Another activity that would interest the kids would be to buy some fish feed from a machine near the Ray Pond and feed the fishes in this ‘Magic Tank’.. due to gravity, the water doesn’t gush out through the opening and you can stick your hand right in to the fishes.

I like the Underwater World because it’s quiet and peaceful. It was very therapeutic for my soul as I walked through it with the sea creatures swimming leisurely around me.

This was an interesting station that allowed kids to poke their heads up into the bubble and be ‘inside’ the tank to have a closer look at the fishes. =)

The jellyfishes were always one of our favorites. We can stare at them all day.

After exploring, we settled down at Island Cuisine for a buffet lunch. The spread is basic but decent with 2 staple, 4 meat and 4 vegetables dishes. Kids may not have that much selection though as many of the dishes are spicy. But there’s ice-cream included in the buffet as well, so that should thrill the kids.
