AXA Family Advantage Pre-Natal Plan

Advertorial

When the husband and I were planning for our first child about 10 years ago, there were frankly not many things we needed to consider. At that time, as long as we felt emotionally and mentally ready for a new addition into our family, we could go ahead and try for a kid. On hindsight, we might have been a little too unprepared and naïve to think that nothing unexpected could possibly happen in the process of pregnancy and the birth process. . I shudder to think what would have happened if situations had occurred that required us to pay large sums of money to rectify them. We certainly didn’t have the ability to deal with those situations then, and we would have been extremely stressed out by that. Thankfully, everything did go smoothly and nothing dramatic happened that threw us off our feet. Then again, life is unpredictable and uncertain – We cannot know for sure what would or would not happen.

Personally, I’ve friends who had to go through the unfortunate situations of their babies born with congenital illnesses, and seeing how they had to struggle through emotional trauma (right after giving birth!) and also worry about how they were going to afford all the treatments made me feel so much for them. My deepest memory was 6 years ago when one of my close friends gave birth to her child with complications in the liver. In the next 4 years or so, the kid was often hospitalized when the liver showed signs of failure. It was painful and heart wrenching, especially when the kid turned very yellow and had no appetite to eat anything at all. He was skinny and very needy most of the time. While the doctors were discussing and finding ways to treat the kid, the parents tried ways and means to make claims from their insurance policies in order to relieve some of the financial burdens caused by the frequent medical treatments, but everything was futile. At that time, there was simply no insurance policies that could cover such situations. Eventually, the kid went through a liver transplant (Very expensive, for your info). Fortunately, he has since recovered fully and is growing up well now. Having accompanied my friends through such a difficult ordeal in their lives, I can truly understand what they have gone through, emotionally and financially. Even though the kid is all well now, the parents are still working hard to pay for all the expenses incurred then.

If you are currently pregnant or at least planning to have a child, this post is for you. AXA has unveiled a first-of-its-kind pre-natal plan package that allows you the flexibility to choose from 8 different types of saving and investment plans, so that you can prepare yourselves for the role of responsible parents. In the case of my friends, if such a plan was available then and they had bought it, they would have been relieved of a large part of the stress.

The truth is, stress can ruin the joy of raising a family. Enjoy parenthood with AXA Family Advantage. Right from coverage against pregnancy complications for expectant mother to congenital illnesses for the unborn child, it also helps parents to get coverage for themselves and help them build their savings or grow their investments.
