Jumpy Smart Watch For Kids: 5 Things I Love About It! (Review)

When I first heard about Jumpy smart watch for kids, I was really curious how it would work. Firstly, I had never heard about smart watches for kids till then. Apparently, smart watches are kids are pretty trendy and popular. Just check out this link for 7 Smart watches to Buy for your kids.

And so, I let the girls review the Jumpy watch this time round, since they are the main users. I had a fun time fiddling with it myself too! Here are 5 things I love about Jumpy smart watches!

1. It Is Intuitive

That means you don’t need to spend hours teaching your kids how to use Jumpy. Your kids would be having fun running through the various functions before you can say, ‘Now, let’s try your Jumpy,’ Kids nowadays are so savvy! Plus, there are options within the watch for them to customize the watch according to their likes and preferences. Kids love such functions because it gives them control and autonomy. All kids like to experience freedom of choice like adults do!

2. Control Over What My Kids Do On The Watch.

Jumpy is designed to connect with Android phones (the iphone version is currently being developed), so once I connect my kids’ Jump watches with my Samsung phone, I can see what they are doing on it. Not that I need so much of a control and monitoring actually, because the watch has only kid-friendly contents. Still, it’s nice to know how many steps my kids have taken in a day, or what functions have they been spending time on- listening to stories, music, or just walking around (You’ll learn more of these functions in the video clip later on!).

3. It Is Fun & Educational.

There are many functions on the watch that are really fun for the kids. The virtual dog – Jumpy – brings laughter to the kids while they interact with it. It responds to voice commands and touch, and the kids can also feed and dress it. Think Tamagotchi during our time?? This is a similar concept, and thrills the kids to no end! I love it when a gadget combines fun and education together because kids are generally more open to learning when it’s fun as well. There are functions within the Jumpy watch that teaches the kids vocabulary, both in English & Mandarin, as well as stories and songs in both languages. It’s perfect for younger kids below 7 years old but even my two Primary school kids had a lot of fun with it.

4. The Kids Can Message Me!

This has got to be my most favorite function of Jumpy watch. The kids can each other (via bluetooth, between Jumpy watches within a certain distance range) either voice messages or little notes and smileys. Similarly, the kids and I can send each other messages - I will receive and reply them on my Android phone. So much fun! I just heard from the Creators of Jumpy that they are working on a 2nd generation of Jumpy watches that allows messaging with no distance constraints. That’s awesome!!! When I am in office, the kids can voice message me via their Jumpy watches at home! Can’t wait for the 2nd generation watches to be out. :)

5. It Is Colorful & Hardy

Love the bright colors available for Jumpy watches! Joey chose the Green & Yellow one while Jayne’s in pretty baby pink. Knowing that kids are the main users of the watches, they are made hardy and practically fall-proof because of their rubber body. They do not get dirty easily and can be wiped clean easily too.  Any kid will feel happy looking at their Jumpy watches!

The girls love their Jumpy watches so much, they even bring it to their beds at night when they sleep. The reason is because of the alarm clock function in the watches! =D
