If you are a fan of hotpot or steamboat as we commonly call it here in Singapore, then you NEED to visit Ping’s Hotpot Restaurant in Bangkok. Yes, even if you have to take a flight to Bangkok just to have hotpot, I think it’s absolutely worth it. It’s that good.
And so, on our last family trip to Bangkok, we popped over to Ping’s Hotpot Restaurant located in Pathumwan Princess Hotel to try out the food. I must say that it has been our best hotpot experience ever, and still is today.
So, what’s important in a hotpot experience, you ask? Take it from a foodie and hotpot lover like me – There are only two main things you need and a third one for extra measure of happiness. I am sure most of you would agree with me that the two main things that will make or break your hotpot experience are the soup base and the raw ingredients. Needless to say, both were superb at Ping’s Hotpot Restaurant. The third thing that absolutely added brownie points to the whole experience was the wonderful service provided by the staff. We were given a private room to dine in and a personal butler was with us throughout, attending to all our requests and needs!
You can opt for set menus if you do not want to crack your brains to think of what to order, or go ala carte. The food selection is wide and everything is served super fresh onto your table.
Make sure you try the sauces and condiments when you are there. The green chili paste is da bomb – created in-house and very deliciously spicy. Goes perfectly with everything!
There! Meet our dedicated butler that day who helped us to mix the sauces and even cooked some of the ingredients because we were busy feeding the kids!
You can check out the dishes of raw food served to our table. Every one of them was super fresh and of good quality.
Like I said, the soup base was super good – Flavorful, sweet and fragrant! Everyone LOVED it!
Don’t just take my word for it – Please make sure you include this into your itinerary when you next visit Bangkok. It will be a hotpot experience that you will remember for a long, long time. :)
Disclosure: The J Babies were invited for a media tasting and this is a documentation of our personal experiences which may differ from yours. Private room & butler may not be part of the dining experience but you can enquire about their availability when you are there. All photographs and opinions used in this post are solely ours.
