District 10: Where Food & Fun Co-Exist

Media Invite

If you remember, we reviewed District 10 Bar & Restaurant a few years ago and everyone really had a good time. It was not difficult, as you can see – There was good food for everyone in an alfresco and chill setting, along with a bouncy castle for the kids to go crazy while the adults continue to indulge in good food and decent conversations.

This time round, we were invited back again to District 10 to try their new additions to their brunch menu and of course, nobody says no to a kid-friendly restaurant that serves decent meals.

District 10 Bar & Restaurant at UE Square has got both indoor and afresco dining areas, and families would opt for the latter because that is where the bouncy castle is. I have to admit that it is a challenge to make the kids finish their food properly (and not gobble it down in record-breaking time just so they can play), but hey, parents need to learn to chill a little especially during the weekends, agree? =D

Evidently, we were not the only ones who think that this was a kid-friendly restaurant. There were tables and tables of families with little kids that afternoon. It was the weekends and everyone deserves to enjoy some good food and fun.

After making their orders, the kids dashed off to play and only came back when the juices were served. Speaking of which, District 10 offers a list of healthy juices which I thoroughly enjoyed. Eating clean and healthy is really the way to go now, and healthier options are always plus-points. We had the Antioxidant ($13++) that consisted of peach, green apple, mango & strawberry as well as Tropical Apple ($14.50++) that had apple, pineapple and pear in it. So refreshing and instantly made me feel healthier! The girls went for the traditional juices of watermelon and orange – their favourites. =D

My kids have tried Mac & Cheese ($9++) in many places and they both raved about this one at District 10, so I guessed it must be pretty good. Personally, I thought the Peanut Butter, Banana and Jelly Waffle ($9++) was a tummy-happy brunch item, sweetness & all.

The fish fritters & fries is as always a popular dish among the adults and kids alike. I couldn’t help but steal some bites from the kids’ portion. =P

For the adults, we tried the new items on the menu - Chicken with Pancetta and Mushroom Sandwich ($16++) which had a hearty combination of roasted chicken, crispy pancetta and button mushroom salsa on whole wheat bread. The Duck Confit Sandwich ($18++) was a crowd pleaser as well with pulled duck confit, melted provolone and mozzarella cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed their sourdough as well!

The Big B ($16++) is an option you can go for when you have a bit of everything commonly found at the breakfast table. You cannot go wrong with this choice. The crispy bacon is to die for. LOL :)

I always enjoy having a good meal with my kids during the weekends when we can take a break from hectic work schedules and homework. Kid-friendly restaurants like this one here is always a gem!

And yes, while the kids dashed off to play on the bouncy castle, the husband and I enjoyed our coffees and a little relaxing time together.

The bouncy castles are set up only during the weekends for families to enjoy brunch together leisurely while the kids have their own fair share of fun as well. The play area may not be huge but my kids had so much fun, they didn’t want to leave! Check out their website for ongoing promotions, and perhaps this coming long weekend is a good time to check them out! :)
