isShoe: Solve Your Shoe’s Issues

Product Review

I have to confess that I am quite a shoe lover. Like the rest of the women on this earth, I only have a pair of legs but I definitely have more than one pair of shoes. But that’s legit, right? We need shoes in different style, design, colour, material and height for different occasions. How can we ever be happy with only one pair of shoes?! But this also means that many of us will face first world problems of caring for our large collection of shoes properly, keeping them dry and smelling good, and storing them properly so that they last longer. This is when isShoe comes into the picture.

I was introduced to isShoe’s products and services and thought they were relevant for my current needs now. In particular, storage has always been a concern and a constant struggle, especially when the shoe collection keeps increasing – Not just mine, but the hubby and the kids too! Much as we try to keep everything neatly, things do get out of place (literally) quite often. And I am glad that I found a solution at isShoe that not only makes everything ínstantly neater, but it is affordable as well.

Check out the BEFORE scene of how shoes get stacked on shoe boxes below the wooden bench in my living room:

I can’t say they are horribly messy but they are certainly unsightly, especially when we have guests over.

And this is what the AFTER photo looks like now that we implemented storage solutions from isShoe!

Elenor Premium Plastic Shoe boxes

I LOVE IT!

Not only are the shoes stored into individual translucent boxes (therefore protected against dust, dirt and moisture), they are stacked neatly together like this! Plus, translucent boxes mean I can see each and every pair of shoes clearly – The hubby and I will know exactly which box to open to get our shoes!

See the hole on every box? Just tug on that and the cover drops down open for you to pull out the pair of shoes you would like to wear on that day. After wearing the shoes, I recommend that you air or sun your shoes before placing them back into their boxes. If you like thing to be even more organized, you can even label the boxes with names.

These shoe boxes are made of distinctively thicker Elenor Plastic and are priced at S$8 each (S$7 each if you purchase more than 6 pieces). They may feel flimsy at first, but I personally feel they are sturdy enough for shoe storage – I don’t move the boxes around all the time, so they are permanently stacked in one place, and I only need to open the covers to get the shoes every time. These are also self-assembled, but don’t worry – If a noob like me can figure it out, you can too. =D

However, if you prefer something even more solid in material, you can always opt for their acrylic shoe boxes, which are of course more expensive at S$18 - S$35.90 each.

One of the obvious cons of using such shoe boxes is that you cannot store high-cut shoes or shoes with thicker soles in them, as they are standard in sizes. My size-5 shoes have no problem fitting in of course (there was still lots of space!), and even my husband’s size-10 shoes had no problem. But there was no way I could fit in our Dr Martens or any of the husband’s high-cut sports shoes or my high-heels and platform shoes. If majority of your shoes belong to those categories, the shoe boxes are not for you.

Apart from their shoe boxes, isShoe carries a range of products to care for your shoes as well such as shoe brushes, shoe trees, shoe deodorizers and water repellent hydrophobic sprays – all of which are very useful in maintaining the quality of our shoes!

I love how useful these active carbon deodorizers are – They remove moisture and odour and look so pretty in colours! =D

The shoe trees come in useful whenever we get a new pair of leather shoes that need some stretching for more comfortable wearing. We also use them to keep shoes of softer material in shape, as they tend to shrivel up after a period of non-wearing.
